African Cats GreenCat 605 Hybrid GM

This luxury- comfortable performance 61ft. cruising catamaran is build in carbon with Kevlar reinforcement and has an empty weight of only 14.000 kilo’s. The construction materials used are resin infused epoxy in combination with Carbon, Twaron, Nomex and Divinycell foam ans is spray painted with 2 K paint in order to keep the weight as low as possible. She has Twaron/ Kevlar protection both on the inside and outside of her hulls from the waterline down, since this yacht will operated in areas with coral.

The GreenCat 605 Green-Motion with the retractable propulsion system drag is minimized so high cruising speeds are expected.

She is equipped with hydraulic operated swing keels and the minimal draught is only 1.20 meter (4 Ft). With the swing keels and retractable motors lifted she can be beached.

Besides the two 20 kW electric Green-Motion retractable motors that can generate while sailing, this GreenCat 605  has a bimini that is equipped with 8 x 300 Wp solar panels and the carbon mast has a 400 W wind generator mounted on top to supply energy to all electric  equipment.

This GreenCat 605 has 4 cabins with king sized beds and bathrooms en suite. In one of the cabins a small operating theatre installed is since this GreenCat will be used in the South Pacific Ocean to give medical aid on remote island.

Green Motion:

The GreenCat 605 uses the new 20 kW Green-Motion fossil fuel free retractable propulsion/ regeneration system. The Green-Motions system is powered with 12 Mastervolt Lithium batteries, 50kW usable power (giver her a 40NM range without starting the DC generator). With this retractable propulsion system drag is minimized so high cruising speeds are expected.
