Salish Sea IS48

The Salish Sea IS48 is unquestionably one of the newest most innovative yachts in the Pacific Northwest. Designed and built by Pat Shannon and Matt Elder to fulfill personal requirements not found on conventionally built vessels. Innovations include a drop down transom to provide an unrestricted view of the water, as well as ease of access for diving, fishing or just watching the kids playing.

Other innovations include a power awning that deploys over 2/3rds of the cockpit to keep the sun off on particularly hot days. Power windows, including the one in the galley, enable the cook  to simply pass prepared food out to the hungry family in the cockpit. The windows port and starboard are also hydraulically powered for ease of opening and closing for ventalation.

The galley as you have already guessed is immediately port of the door from the cockpit. A borrowed feature from many Mediterranean boat builders which allows the cook to be right in the middle of all the action. 

The finishings are spectacular, done in fir with multiple layers of satin sheen, complete with complimenting yew for the high traffic areas for increased protection.

A very special home entertainment system is included, as is a washer/dryer (specially built into a cockpit cabinet, outside where it should be). 

Below is remarkably spacious with 3 full cabins, each with loads of drawers and hangup lockers, again all finished in that soothing fir bringing warmth and comfort, complimented with natural forest greens and browns; a bit of forest splendor indoors. 

All of this, and more than enough power in the fuel efficient and dynamic Volvo IPS800s delivering 1,200 hp to the pods, and joystick and Skyhook control for ease of handling it tight places.
