From the outset of build and design this boat has had probably the finest input from some of the biggest talents in offshore racing. Roland Jourdain ‘Bilou’ was the owners’ rep’ during the yard construction phase and as a result numerous fundamental decisions to evolve and improve this boat were implemented. This included and is not limited to: Ballast system improvement and optimisation, refined weight distribution, deck layout optimisation, refined rig design. Electrical installation was carried out by Pixel sur Mer and Bilous’ own team.
Ryan Breymaier completed the running rigging and delivered the boat to the USA consequently further optimising the boat for the following season including, rudder and steering refinements, keel adjustments (the keels have options for fore and aft locations on the Tyker3) and a general improvement and upgrading of the deck hardware.
Owners’ remarks.‘This Tyker is far better built and prepared than its sister ship thanks to the expertise and input of Bilou and Ryan Breymaier and my need for detailed preparation. Our mast choice is different as well so is the entire deck set up. The interior masses were distributed differently and as a result this boat is significantly faster than the other Tyker 3. This boat is fully sorted. All she needs is, 2 days to get her sorted, time to recalibrate the electronics as usual and go!’
Le Coq Cuisine has been professionally laid up at New England Boatworks, Portsmouth RI, having been prepared for a Trans-Atlantic race that she didn’t in the end start. Sails and batteries have been stored off the boat, halyards moused out etc. With so few miles on the clock there is huge potential from this yacht and in good hands this all-round design will remain competitive for years to come.
