Off-Ship Fire-fighting: A single monitor, with a nominal capacity of 2,000 gpm, fitted forward for fighting off-ship fires. Sea water for the monitor is supplied by a dedicated fire pump driven by one of the diesel generators.
Towing Winch: the Aft Towing Winch is a Jon-Rie Intertech Series 500, with a capacity of 2000 -ft of 1 3/4" Dia. Hawser. The winch produces a line pull of 70,000 lbs,. a line speed of 30 FPM and a brake holding force of 265,0000 lbs. The hydraulic motor is furnished complete with a re-circulation (free-wheel) valve, which will free-wheel at a line pull of approx 75,000 lbs in neutral position (if the winch is overhauled) and 10,000lbs in the emergency release (abort) mode.
