Outboard engine brackets
Three cabin and three heads version. The fore cabin has a large double berth with inner sprung mattress and battens fitted to bunk top, many lockers and cupboards for storage and a full length wardrobe. There is a vanity desk unit with stool and one of the ensuite heads compartments. There are a number of deck hatches giving good light, and when needed ventilation. Each hatch has integral blinds or screens.
The saloon has ample seating for a full crew around a large table. There are two moveable chairs for making use of the inboard side of the table or for casual extra seats. There are large windows at all levels including the hull, the coachroof and the deck. These give lots of light and a feeling of space to this area.
The saloon table can be lowered to form a further double berth here if required.
Aft to port there is the galley area which s well fitted out with a three burner grill and oven cooker, microwave, dishwasher, double sink with pressurised hot and cold water system, fridge and freezer compartments, extractor fan unit above cooker, and plenty of cupboards and lockers for storing utensils and vitals.
Opposite is the navigators station with secure seat and desk for chart work. Instrumentation is available here form the Raymarine MFD unit. The VHF radio and navtex receiver are mounted here. A switch panel to control power distribution on board along with a monitoring panel and inverter control are also all positioned here.
In each aft quarter there is a large double cabin, each with an ensuite heads compartment and shower. Plenty of cupboards, lockers and other storage for gear.
There is hot air heating to all compartments and televisions in both the forward cabin and the saloon. The saloon TV boasts 3D and is fed from a 3D blueray player and a Intellian Satellite antenna mounted aft.
All three WC units have holding tanks and are electic flush versions.
There are trimmed and bound carpets for all flooring surfaces (except the galley)
Forward of all the above, and accesed through a large deck hatch, is a dedicated skippers cabin with a single berth, WC and wash hand basin. This space also makes great storage for large items of gear
Sails, spars and rigging
Mast, boom and spinnaker poles are all of anodised alluminium. Standing rigging is S/S and running rigging is braided terylene ropes. At deck level all the rigging screws are protected by alluminum tube covers.
There is a "flying forestay" to be used for a storm sail, and extra halyards in place for this, the spinnaker and the dinghy hoist.
There is a custom designed system utilising the spinnaker pole and a halyard for retrieving the dinghy to the foredeck.
The JY 53 has inmast furling mainsail, electric furling genoa and an asymetric cruising spinnaker.
The port hand coach roof winch is electric as are the two primary sheet winches.
Deck and cockpit
The cockpit is extremely spacious with a large fixed table in the middle. Modern layout with twin wheels aft and a direct and easy passageway to the transom.Wide steps down the transom for easy access to dinghies and tenders. These steps fold up to reveal liferaft storage and below this is the generator. There is an outboard motor bracket on the aft rail.
Much of the seating on the cockpit serves as covers to locker space giving plenty of storage for fenders and other gear. All seating areas have cushions that can be deployed when required.
The cockpit is protected by a large canvas sprayhood on a stainless steel frame which has an integral handle on the trailing edge.
The side decks are wide and easily negotiated with handrails along coachroof top and standard guardrails and stanchions. There are gates to each side and a removeable stainless steel access ladder with secure fittings in the deck surface.
A protective cover set incorporating outside window covers, cockpit table cover, and wheel covers.
All running rigging is led aft to the cockpit across the coachroof top, to the winches mounted either side of the main hatch.
The deck forward of the mast is in this case used for storage of the dinghy but is large enough and ideal for sunbathing etc.
There is a chain locker forward of all accomodation and the skippers cabin with a rode of 65 metres 10mm chain, 50 metres warp and a 32Kg delta anchor. This is handled by an electric windlass, controlled from either the bow area or a second control by the helm.

Instruments are by Raymarine and include speed, depth, wind speed and direction and sea temperature. All are ST70 models.

Please note that although the chock system was designed by a naval architect/engineer and agreement was granted by Jeanneau we would not recommend offshore sailing with the Williams on the foredeck.
