The ARCONA 400 is the most popular boat in the Arcona range since her introduction at the Stockholm Boat Show, where she was she was awarded Boat of the Year. With stunning modern looks, technically advanced construction and performance to die for, she optimises cruising and racing and is easily sailed by a short-handed crew.
Structurally, Arconas are built to withstand the toughest of sea conditions. At the heart of their build lies a substantial galvanised steel cross frame to which the mast, rigging and keel are firmly attached. This cradle takes all the dynamic loads on the hull, which can consequently be made lighter to improve her performance under sail.
The hull and decks are made from 20mm thick Divinycell foam, sandwiched between a tough water resistant multi-axial polyester laminate. The bulk heads and interior are laminated to the hull and deck to give additional strength and rigidity.
The level of craftsmanship throughout reflects our Swedish roots. Below decks the Arcona 400 offers: beautiful Khaya Mahogany varnished to a high satin finish; a high level of interior comfort, a spacious and bright saloon, different cabin layouts, a well-fitted galley, generous chart table, and a heads compartment with a shower and wet-clothes locker.
Designed for family living despite her racing credentials, the Arcona 400 offers 2 or 3 cabin versions and 1 or 2 toilets:
- Three cabin version – with two large aft cabins, spacious double berths and comfortable forecabin (with optional additional head)
- Two cabin version with one light and roomy aft cabin, comfortable forecabin (with optional additional head) a separate shower compartment and huge cockpit locker on the starboard side.
In summary she is an all round winner, blending together the seemingly contrasting qualities of enviable speed; ease of handling and total comfort. Indeed the Arcona 400 effectively sums up what the Arcona experience is all about.
