Wooden Ships Comments
Built by the present very experienced owner over a 12 year period for his own use. Launched in 2010 and sailed lightly in the Solent since then, mainly local cruising and racing around the cans.
The design is fundamentally a Sigma 31 but was altered by Mr D. Thomas to incorporate a counter stern. The result is a pretty, spacious and exceptionally fast yacht which will easily and regularly reach comfortable and sustained speeds of over 10 knots.
The build quality is second to none and every inch was planned and finished by the owner to his high standards with an eye not only on the finish but also on the longevity of the boat. During the build process each strip was fastened with stainless screws to secure it while the glue went off, the screws were then removed and the holes filled so that the entire hull is free from metal fastenings apart from keel bolts and chain plate bolts.
Everywhere you look there is storage space with a huge lazarette locker, cavernous port side cockpit locker and numerous cubby holes and lockers below decks. Although she has only been used for racing she would make an excellent fast cruising yacht for a single hander or couple.
Sadly ill health has forced the owner to find a new home for the boat but until then she will be cared for and maintained to the exacting standards and condition in which she has been kept for the last 7 years.
