Huge red letters emblazon the bow of this innovative vessel: JUST MAKES SENSE. Nothing could better summarize the groundbreaking design of this amazing yacht. Yet Eric Bruneel’s (of Fountaine Pajot's design team) concept is simple: to offer the performance of a trimaran and the comfort and accommodation of a cruising catamaran. The result is an interior with the volume and style of a New York loft that travels in double digits in the lightest of airs, and over 20kts when the wind picks up. The platform is incredible, its area (more than 500 sq.ft) is impressive, and, once aboard, all you want to do is cast off... In the end, the Neel 50 is perhaps the multihull of the future. In much the same way that hybrid automobiles have made an impact on our roads, this concept of putting cruising cat accomodations on top of a performance trimaran hull will surely begin a new lineage in the evolution of multihull design. JUST MAKES SENSE has a cutting edge interior loaded with all the amenities for comfortable cruising and living aboard. But despite all of its creature comforts, the NEEL 50 is a high performance vessel, paying tribute to Bruneel’s racing pedigree. It is resolutely designed for fast cruising, The NEEL 50 is set up with the latest innovations developed by racing multihulls, such as square top mainsail, Vectran shrouds and forestay, reef hooks, and carbon rudder, to name but a few. Weight distribution is centered, limiting pitching. The sail area is wide with 170 square meters per ton. The trimaran is also fast under power. Indeed, the main hull’s prismatic coefficient offers a very low drag and the lateral floats only touch the water surface ever so lightly. Safety wise, JUST MAKES SENSE is virtually unsinkable, as her PVC foam sandwich construction and the anti-collision partitions make the boat even lighter than water. The three fins protect the hulls, the rudder and the propeller while the mainhull fin enables the NEEL 50 to land on a ramp or a beach where the two lateral fins make it stable. The boat can therefore sail in shallow waters to explore, or to find protection in the event of inclement weather. With winches and stoppers for manoeuvring the sails fitted inside, the crew is protected in cases of strong wind and during night navigation. JUST MAKES SENSE creates a buzz wherever she goes, and has just arrived on the side of the pond. If you are looking for a luxury multihull that raises the bar on the comfort/perfomance scale, you must see this yacht. THERE IS NO OTHER MULTIHULL LIKE IT The 45' smaller sister to the Neel 50 was just recognized for its design innovation in Cruising World's Boat of the Year Competition. JUST MAKES SENSE is larger, faster, cruise equipped and ready to sail away....all at a fantastic price.
