The Farr 11s design was very advanced for its time. Capable of doing upwind speeds in the high 7's and break loose downwind speeds in a controlled manner. It is a similar design as the new 2017 Melges 40. The 11s also has a fair PHRF rating of -3.

The non skid deck is in like new condition and covers the entire cockpit and deck of the boat.

Interior is designed for day racing or coastal distance races. The head has a Y-Valve for overboard discharge as well as a Carbon Fibre sink. Access to the hydraulic systems for the canting keel is under the floor boards in the main part of the cabin. A window allows you to see the canting keel to ensure it is in the correct position. Batteries and other electrical components are all located aft of the Engine on the port side. The engine is accessed from on deck by opening up the deck of the cockpit. Large bow area for spinnaker storage.

Design & Construction
Underside foils include a Hydraulic canting keel with a Lead bulb,
Port and Starboard Carbon Fibre asymetric Canards,
Duel Carbon Fibre split rudders.
Bottom was redone by Waterline Systems in 2009 and in 2016 painted with VC Offshore by hand and is wet sanded to be smoother than new.
From Farr Yacht Design:
The hull shape combines the demands for minimizing light air (low speed) drag with high-speed stability and excellent handling qualities. Twin rudders will help control in extreme conditions while the raked bow offers better wave jumping/piercing control. The rig is developed from a skiff-rig concept with highly swept spreaders and no backstay allowing easy tacking and jibing of the large square-headed mainsail. The concept should provide some automatic depowering, and minimize demands on the crew during maneuvers, leaving hands available for keel/canard manipulation and sail handling. The retractable bowsprit stretches the sail plan to allow ample downwind sail area in the form of asymmetric spinnakers. Construction calls for carbon fiber skins with honeycomb core sandwich. The keel fin is also carbon fiber with a 1,090 Kg lead bulb with an overall displacement of 2400 Kg. Motoring power comes from an 15 HP outboard that is retractable in a well that opens to the cockpit. Keel canting is activated by an electrohydraulic pump system requiring 10 - 15 seconds for full keel articulation in tacks and jibes.
