Since April 2009, we have had marvelous moments with our Océanis 37. We chose this boat because she represents a very good balance between a dynamic boat that is very easy to handle with a small crew (we are often 2 to sail...) and with solid marine capacities known for its performances of beautiful secure cruises.This boat has perfectly well achieved its objectives thanks to a great conception: all the mast maneuvers are carried out in the cockpit and an electric winch is there for back up (enabling to reef quickly, securely and without big efforts), an auto pilot and very well placed sheet that makes it is easy to tack single handed, a very beautiful asymmetric spinnaker easy to hoist and to pull in.The sails from Delta Voiles (full batten main sail, genoa perfectly cut and efficient staysail) gave us great speed and made a few jealous people in racing situations. The few "windy" situations that we encountered, among others a passage of the Strait of Gibraltar allowed us to check that the reputations of security and valor of the Océanis 37 was not vain. At no moment did we have the impression of being out of control. On the opposite, we have enjoyed many days of sunny moorings on the south side of the Mediterranean with many discoveries of islands and creeks where the large and comfortable sun bathing platform proved to be a great base for underwater explorations, enchanting fishing moments, and diving for the kids.
Easy maintenance, comfortable cockpit and cabins with a saloon that is as comfortable whilst sailing as it is whilst mooring, our Océanis has become a sort of friend. Wishing to go further away and more than anything having realized that our group of friends, impatient to share the sailing experience with us, has obviously increased, we are now changing to a 43 feet...but we stay faithful to the Bénéteau constructor.
