Powered by a Yanmar 4JH4 HTE 110hp diesel engine driving through a shaft to a feathering Max Prop 3 bladed propellor. Bowthruster. Construction: This Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 54DS was built and commissioned in 2008 by Jeanneau. Hull is constructed in GRP with reinforced Kevlar. Decks are a Balsa sandwich and liner for rigidity and insulation with teak laid surfaces and rubrail. Short keel with epoxy encapsulated cast iron with a long encalpsulated keel. The interior is fitted out in teak veneer with teak and holly soles. Upholstered in cream leather throughout.
Sails and Rigging: Keel stepped mast with triple spreaders, stainless steel standing rigging, double backstays and releasable inner forestay. White painted aluminimum alloy mast and boom with Profurl electric roller reefing on the headsail. Harken self tailing winches throughout with electric winch on starboard coachroof. Sail wardrobe consists of slab reefed stack packed mainsail, genoa and two (light and medium) asymetrical spinnakers.
