This N37 cruising trawler is equipped with the optional flying bridge – a popular choice for those spending time in warm climates, and especially in the Bahamas where it’s easier to “read” the water from up high. One feature of this vessel is that she is 43ft LOA but only 37 LOW which saves you bigtime at marinas and boatyards.
Above all, she’s safe, strong and able to venture virtually anywhere while providing all the comforts of home – and all at a reasonable, sensible cost. Most N37 owners are exploring coastal waterways, ICW or island hopping, but these boats have proven themselves on long ocean passages including trips to Bermuda, Hawaii and Cuba. Silver Queen is the ideal size for a couple with occasional guests, as it features a large owner’s stateroom that takes advantage of the hull’s wide beam carried forward. A queen sized, memory foam island berth is surrounded by rich, warm mahogany wood cabinets and two large hanging lockers. An overhead hatch and two opening ports ensure plenty of natural light and ventilation.
The large head features a full sized stall shower that is more likely to be found in a home than on boats of this size. The second stateroom is features a single berth, under berth storage and library shelving. This extra space provides full time liveaboards extra privacy, allowing a member of the crew to enjoy their favorite activity while not disturbing others in the main saloon.
In the main saloon, a double navigator’s seat on the port side faces forward to a large chart table. To starboard is the helm seat, steering station and panels for electronics and engine instrumentation. The raised L Shaped settee with HiLo table provides excellent visibility while seated, and it converts to a double berth when needed. The two bar stools from the galley can be brought up on occasions when dinner for six is being served. A comfortable starboard settee is the perfect place to curl up with a good book or just relax and take in the scene or a movie. A drop down 26” TV monitor is viewable from all seating.
There’s a big surprise waiting for you below the cabin’s teak and holly sole. Open the hatch and step down into the huge, walk-in bosun’s locker where there’s room to stow enough cruising supplies for extended voyages or if you are living aboard full time.
Silver Queen has a protected cockpit big enough for a couple of deck chairs and small table. Silver Queen’s flybridge has enough space on the aft boat deck for a 12-foot center console RIB with 30hp Honda engine.
The flybridge includes a helm with engine controls and a helm chair. Two 6 1/2 foot, cushioned bench seats provide plenty of seating and extra storage room. Wide side decks and heavy duty aluminum safety rails running the entire length of the boat make it safe and easy to move about when handling dock lines, picking up a mooring or working with the ground tackle.
This boat is easily single handed or a breeze to manage with two or more on board. Deck lockers under the forward wheelhouse windows provide storage space and a convenient seating area.
A sturdy bow pulpit is complete with a dual capstan windlass and is set up to accept two anchors. The chain locker can be accessed from the master cabin and contains two 200-foot lengths of 5/16″ chain.
The walk-in engine room boasts standing room at the workbench area and easy access to all mechanical equipment. Silver Queen features twin diesel engines for redundancy and a bow thruster for added control while docking. There is plenty of room for the generator, inverter, water maker, batteries, oil change system, dual fuel filters and storage for spare parts, fluids and tools.
With its twin diesel engines, Silver Queen cruises comfortably and quietly between 7.25 and 7.5 knots burning approximately 2.2 gallons per hour total. With its 650-gallon fuel capacity, this gives Silver Queen a safe range of 1,500 miles with a 20% fuel reserve.
