The X-43 was one of the best sellers of that generation of X-Yachts, most likely due to the balance she struck on the Cruiser-Racer scale. This particular yacht has the deep keel for additional performance and has the modern layout below. Viewing recommended. HULL Coloured hull (Dark Blue) Bottom treatment (Epoxy) The hull and deck are built in a sandwich construction made up of isothalic polyester resin and biaxial E-glass. Further reinforcements are with particular positioned biaxial E-glass in high stress areas. The core material is 15-30mm compressed. Divinycell with a density of 100kg/m3. Solid laminate is used around the keel, rudder and through hull fittings for maximum strength. The hull and deck are glued together and through bolted in high stress areas. The sea cocks are made of bronze. Teak laid cockpit floor and cockpit seats, comings and bathing platform. Stainless steel boarding ladder. The cockpit lockers are fitted with gas struts for safety and ease. Steel keel frame The hot-galvanised high strength steel bottom frame absorbs the loads from the keel, mast and rig. It also includes the central lifting attachment. Keel The keel consists of an antimony hardened lead bulb with deep cast iron fin for high strength and low centre of gravity. The keel is protected with a layer of GRP and faired with polyester filler for improved performance. ENGINE Volvo Penta D2- 55 which is the optional larger engine – fresh water cooled 4 cylinder engine with SD 50 sail drive to a 3 bladed folding propeller. Engine control panel situated by the helm in a plexiglass covered recess RPM, oil pressure and cooling water temperature gauges. Engine last serviced 2011. Total engine hours are 650 hours. ELECTRICAL The two 12v 120amp domestic batteries can be charged via the engine alternator or via shore power through the battery charger. This is also the case for the 55amp spiral cell engine battery. DECK General The deck and cockpit are well laid out and suitable for cruising or racing. Side decks are wide and easily navigated and have jack Stay attachment points. Chainplates The deck plates are connected directly to steel bottom frame, Forestay is mounted in the bow well and Backstay mounted on the transom with a Navtech A17 hydraulic backstay. Lifelines Stainless Steel pulpit & pushpit with navlights and ensign socket, stanchions and double guard wires surround a deep safe cockpit. Sprayhood The integrated dark blue sprayhood supported on SS foldable tubes folds down into a recess which is canvas covered in matching sprayhood and is unobtrusive. Bathing Ladder Stainless Steel ladder mounted on the transom. Mainsheet system A German mainsheet is fitted, led backwards under deck to a full width mainsheet track with adjustable car and self tailing winches port and starboard. Genoa Cars High quality tracks with ball bearing cars adjustable from the cockpit. Winch Stoppers 9Spinlock XCS Stoppers for halyards, reef, cunningham, vang and genoa furling line are located on the cabin roof. Winches 2 x Anderson 58 ST-FS genoa winches. 2 x Anderson 46 ST (portside is electric) 2 speed self tailing. 2 x Anderson 46 ST mainsheet winches. All winches are self tailing Cockpit The cockpit has quality Teak laid floor, seat tops and combings and two lockers for general storage each capable of holding a life raft. Two further deep lockers at the aft end of the cockpit. Cockpit sole fittings for removable cockpit table. Portlights and Hatches Moonlight opening, chrome polished aluminium hatches and portlights are fitted providing a light and airy ambiance. Ocean Air blinds/fly screen to hatches and privacy screens/curtains to portlights. Other items Warps and fenders. Stainless Trefoil Anchor 20kg with chain and warp. MAST & RIGGING 9/10ths triple spreader Aluminum mast with rod rigging and hydraulic mast jack. The mast has aluminum folding mast steps for working above the deck. Aluminum boom with kicking strap/vang. German mainsheet system for easy control and full width mainsheet track. Reckman RS 2000 headsail furling system with below deck drum can be set up for racing using twin grooves or cruising with a roller head sail. High quality dyneema running rigging and halyards. All halyards lead aft to the cockpit to suit racing or cruising. The boat is set up with single line reefing for ease. Freely adjustable spinnaker pole positioning. Addition halyard. ACCOMMODATION Modern 3 Cabin layout with 2 heads The yachts interior is Teak in hand polished satin finish and all carpentry is of high quality. The upholstery is in pale beige. Saloon On the starboard side there is an L shaped seating area surrounding a lounge dining. A 3 seater Island settee is fitted with storage below. Fwd Owners Cabin The cabin has a large double berth with a good depth mattress and slatted mattress for extra comfort and a small settee. For storage the modern design incorporates a double wardrobe with shelves and hangers and a single wardrobe with shelves and space underneath the berth for bedding etc. There is a deck hatch for additional light and ventilation. En-Suite heads The owner’s cabin has an en-suite head with marine flushing WC and white gel coat units with integrated sink. Pressurised hot and cold water system incorporating a shower and mixer tap. Stainless steel towel hooks, toilet paper holder and mirrors are mounted on front opening vanity lockers. Holding tank with self draining outlet and deck outlet. Navigation area To Starboard of the companionway is the navigation station which has a good sized chart table and plenty of storage for pilot books and charts, the electrical distribution panel is situated here along with a full range of instrumentation. Galley The long galley on the port side has a top opening GRP icebox with 100mm insulation, cooled efficiently by a Thermostatically controlled refrigerator unit. Shelves and lockers with plexiglass sliding doors and 3 x drawers give ample storage for provisions, crockery and utensils. Further storage is available under the navigation table and saloon seating. The galley is additionally fitted with a top of the range 2 burner gimbaled oven with grill. Aft Double Cabins The aft cabins have one large double berth each. The starboard cabin has a wardrobe with shelves and hangers; the port cabin has a wardrobe with shelves. Each berth has a batten sprung mattress base and foam mattress. Main heads The main heads has a marine flushing WC and white gel coat units with integrated sink. Pressurised hot and cold water system incorporating a shower and mixer tap. Stainless steel towel hooks, toilet paper holder and mirrors are mounted on front opening vanity lockers.
