Outboard engine brackets
All interior woodwork is in light mahogany with matt silk finish. Upholstery is in light blue throughout, with biege curtains. The locker doors are flush mounted with solid wood frames and ventilation louvres at the top. The interior deck boards are varnished teak inlaid with holly. The saloon deckhead is paneled with mahogany strips, while the remaining deckheads have a light coloured lining.
Cushions on all berths 12 cm/ 5’’ thick sandwich construction and resting on unvarnished, well ventilated boards to avoid condensation.
Handholds are in all the right positions. The boat is carpeted, except in front of the galley and under the cockpit steps,
All portlights, hatches and windows are fitted with curtains.

The forward cabin has been arranged in such a way to allow generous free movement for dressing and undressing. Two 2.05m/6’ 9’’ long berths with ample stowage above and below and in addition a number of lockers. Hanging locker and vanity. Infill between the berths. Opening skylights with curtains under.
Aft cabin has a hanging locker on starboard and two comfortable berths, stowage below and above. There is a mirror fitted and seat between the berths. A lee cloth is fitted to the starboard sea berth.
There are 2 x settee sea berths in the saloon both fitted with lee cloths.

Henry Buchanan has been the sole owner of Spellbinder from new and has done much of the maintenance work himself, utilising his experience as an Engineer in Royal Navy submarines.
He has cruised the Baltic, explored the Atlantic coast of Europe and completed an Atlantic circuit via most of the volcanic island groups including the Cape Verde islands and those in the eastern Caribbean. The Mediterranean was reached from Bermuda via the Azores in 2008, followed by island hopping out to Turkey in 2009, and then returning to southern Portugal in 2012 via the southern Peloponnese and Sicily. He returned to Britain in 2013 via the Atlantic coast of Spain and Portugal, the Bay of Biscay and Brittany.
He is the author of the Atlantic Spain and Portugal Pilot published by Imray under the auspices of the Royal Cruising Club Pilotage Foundation (RCCPF).
Built by Hallberg Rassy in 2005/2006 to a design by German Frers.
