Entering the Pilot House from the port side, there is a wide helm with two 15" glass touch screens and all instruments and electronics easily viewable and accessible. A beautiful Stidd Helm chair and large windshield give a commanding view out the front and sides of the yacht. Aft of the helm is a large L-shaped settee with a work table for charts, laptop, etc. Very comfortable seating underway for four. The table flips open to offer dining for four and it drops down with a filler cushion to form a very comfortable queen berth.
On the starboard side of the pilothouse is a companionway that leads aft past the Watch Cabin. This is a large, comfortable stateroom with FULL queen-berth, plenty of storage and a flip-up LCD TV/DVD at the foot of the bed. An ensuite half-head and incredible views out the large windows complete this great cabin.
Back into the companionway, you go down about 8 steps into the spacious, full-beam saloon. This is much more like a living room than a typical boat saloon with space to starboard for two recliners (not included) and a large L-settee to port. By the way, all fabric in John Henry is buttery soft UltraLeather. Next to the settee is a corner entertainment system with 32 LCD TV, KVH satellite receiver, DVD surround sound system and storage. In fact, John Henry has 105 separate areas for storage. There is a pass-thru to the galley on the forward bulkhead of the saloon. The pass-thru has a flip-up mahogany dining table and the two recliner hassocks make great stools to sit at the table and have a casual snack or meal. There is also a flip-up Arrigoni Design table by the L-settee that opens up to make room for 6 to have dinner.
Heading forward down a couple steps from the saloon, we go to starboard into the unique Utility Room. This is where the large washer and dryer reside, right next to the Broan trash compactor. Above these units is an oak, butcher block workbench and the electrical switch panels. Storage space, again, abounds. On the aft bulkhead is a panel that includes access to all Racor filters (switchable, two for each engine plus genset), the fuel polishing system, remote panels for genset start and watermaker operation, and the big Xantrex inverter.
You can enter the spacious engine room either through a mahogany door in the utility room or through a large hatch in the saloon floor. The compact Yanmar 75hp main engines sit where they can be easily accessed all the way around. The 13kw genset is mounted on the port side of the engine room and the HRO watermaker is aft ebtween the engines. The large, brand new battery bank (1,300 amp-hours) with automatic watering system is mounted to port. Right in the center of the engine room is the unique Great Harbour Sea Chest for incoming seawater. There are no underwater through hulls in this yacht! No sea strainers either. The entire engine room is brightly lighted and painted in beautiful white awlgrip.
Across from the utility room, on the port side of the boat is a home-sized galley really a kitchen with all home-size appliances: 23 c.f. two-door GE Profile refrigerator with ice and filtered water in the door, 4-burner Kenyon touch cooktop, GE Profile Microwave/Convection oven, full-size double sink, Fischer-Paykel drawer-type dishwasher and tons of storage.
Continuing forward from the galley, there is a huge, high/low pantry to port and a full guest head to starboard. The guest head has a LARGE built-in bathtub, Vacuflush head and vanity with lots of counter space.
Across from the guest head is the lower guest stateroom. This cabin has a lower single berth that pulls out to form a double, and a drop-down, Pullman-style upper single berth. Lots of drawers and cabinets complete this cabin.
At the forward end of the accommodations deck is the master stateroom. This is an IMMENSE space with 7 of headroom, an island full queen berth with Tempurpedic mattress and tons of storage space. On the aft bulkhead to starboard is the ships office, with a large, built-in mahogany desk, upper bookcase, and space for a computer and printer. To port, on the aft bulkhead is the ensuite head with shower. All-in-all, accommodations that would make anyone feel at home.
As you can see, John Henry has amazing living space. In fact, I believe we figured it out to something like 900 s.f. of usable interior space!
