The Beneteau Oceanis 393 unites comfort and services. The fluent water lines and balanced sail plan guarantee speed and safe cruises, with maximum comfort. It is easy to manage with a reduced crew.
This Beneteau Oceanis 393 has three double cabins (one forward and two aft), two heads and an in-line galley on the starboard side. Headroom in the saloon is 2.05m aft, tapering to 1.92m forward - which should be more than enough for all but the tallest.
As you come down the companionway the nav station is on the port-side with a fiddled chart table which lifts to reveal the chart storage. The area has a shelved cupboard underneath and extra storage under the comfortable seat.
Opposite the nav station is a heads with 2.05m headroom, manual marine toilet, pressurised hot and cold water to both the washbasin and the shower. There's a vanity cabinet with mirror and storage, a wooden handrail and an electric pump for the shower tray.
Turning aft there are two identical private double cabins, both with good-sized berths (2m x 1.5m), a hanging locker and shelf storage space. They are well lit and ventilated with opening portholes and hatches on the topsides, coachroof and cockpit.
In the main saloon the galley runs along the starboard-side with; 12V electric refrigeration; a gimballed stove twin burners and oven, protected by a stainless steel guardrail; twin SS sinks with hot and cold water; plenty of storage areas, drawers and work space.
Opposite is a U-shaped settee and a small central seat, providing seating for six adults around the saloon table.
Forward of the main bulkhead is a large double cabin with ensuite bathroom in the forepeak. There is a double berth to port (1.95m x 1.45m) with a hanging locker and bench seat to starboard. There is shelf space along the hull on both sides and storage is completed with shelving in the hanging locker and two drawers under the bed.
The moulded GRP heads encloses another manual marine toilet, vanity unit with washbasin, hot and cold pressurised water supply to basin and shower.
Back on deck, the Beneteau Oceanis 393's masthead rig is set up with a deck-stepped, anodised aluminium mast supported under the deck by a stainless steel cabin post. There are two sets of swept-back spreaders, with SS wire standing rigging (shrouds, lowers, forestay and baby stay, plus twin backstays).
The deck layout is designed to make the boat easy to handle short-handed. The sail control lines are led back to a pair of self-tailing winches on the coachroof either side of the companionway and a pair of self-tailers on the cockpit coamings complete the layout.
Besides the furling genoa and quick reefing main, there is a rigid kicker (adjustable from the cockpit). The primary winches are easily accessible from the steering position, and the mainsheet and traveller are set up on the coachroof to provide an uncluttered cockpit.
There are slatted teak bench seats and floor, with a teak drop-leaf table which can be fitted to the front of the substantial steering console. This also houses the stainless steel grabrail, a binnacle compass, the engine throttle lever, room for wind/speed instrumentation and the leather-covered stainless steel wheel.
The engine instruments and on/off controls are housed behind a perspex shield in the port-side cockpit coaming, immediately adjacent to the steering position.
Under the cockpit seats is locker space for sails and associated gear as well as a separate area for two gas bottles to one side. Liferaft stowage is opposite. There are two more lockers aft, plus access to the teak transom boarding/diving platform. There is a stainless steel swim ladder with teak steps and a cockpit shower with hot/cold supply.

The hull is a single-skinned GRP construction. A structural inner moulding is bonded and laminated to the hull at various points. Its structural role is important as it takes and absorbs the stresses at pressure points (chain plate tie rods, keel, rudder, etc.) spreading the loads and so guaranteeing reduced stress on the hull. The surface of the inner moulding makes cleaning easier and provides a better finish. The propeller shaft is protected by a moulding in the hull. The hull is white with blue and gold decoration.
