The AMEL 54 is a thoughtfully refined ocean-going cruising system that draws its evolution from three previous 50’ AMEL designs to the near perfection it embodies today. This boat is easily managed by one pair of hands and is child’s play for a cruising couple to handle in even the most trying of circumstances. I take great pleasure in gently proving this to everyone who buys one! It is as safe as your house with a unique one piece/fully laminated hull and deck featuring five completely watertight collision bulkheads and a separate stand up engine and machinery room that is 100% isolated from the interior. All the noisy and stinky stuff is in there, not under your galley, or worse. This ain’t camping as all the comforts of a sea side home are here and it all works better than the stuff in your house. Generator, watermaker, air conditioning and heat, two deep freezers and a separate fridge, clothes washer and dryer, dishwasher, stall showers, three staterooms, complete furling rig, 15 hp bow thruster, powered winches, two windlasses, complete electronics and navigation gear...and that’s just what’s standard and built in at the shipyard. This is the nicest brokerage 54 of this vintage available anywhere and represents exceptional value even in today’s market. Happy to gently prove this when you come and have a look.

The interior is finished primarily with burl cut African mahogany in a semi gloss polyurethane varnish finish. Overhead areas are pebble textured white vinyl over removable panels secured in position with industrial strength Velcro. The sole throughout is a manufactured laminate with the look of blond teak that it is nearly maintenance free. Upholstery is in cream Alcantara which is an extremely durable synthetic suede micro fiber material.
All the way forward is the guest head with a full height watertight collision bulkhead isolating this area from the foredeck storage lockers and the chain lockers. There is a separate stall shower with curtain on the centerline flanked by the marine toilet to port with a vanity and wash basin opposite to starboard. The laundry equipment is located in this area with a nearly household size front loading clothes washer and separate vented front loading clothes dryer.
Aft to the guest stateroom which has a large full sized double berth to port with single upper and lower berths opposite to starboard. There is a very clever bi-fold mahogany door nearly on the centerline fore and aft that allows for a full private stateroom to port and a semi private stateroom to starboard. The athwartships bulkhead and door from this cabin aft into the saloon is a genuine, full height, watertight bulkhead with a watertight door that will fully isolate the forward accommodation area from the after section of the vessel.
The full width saloon is next aft with a U shaped dinette to port with two fixed arm chairs opposite to starboard with a top loading bar and beverage glass storage area in between the chairs. The 20” flat screen T.V. is directly opposite and is mounted on a retractable lift that keeps it hidden when not in use. The dinette table articulates horizontally allowing ease of access by those sitting outboard. The U shaped galley is in the portside aft area of the saloon and is separated from the forward facing navigation station by the three step companionway up to the cockpit.
The passageway to the aft cabin is on the starboard side just aft of the navigation station and contains the single sea berth. This berth is located very close to the vessels center of gravity so movement here in a sea-way is much less than anywhere else in the boat. The athwartships bulkhead and access door into the aft cabin in this area are full height and watertight when secured.
The owners’ cabin is all the way aft where it takes good advantage of the wide beam in this area. The centerline queen-sized berth lifts up with one hand with pressurized gas struts assisting to expose a huge under berth storage area. There is a ladies vanity with seat outboard to starboard with storage lockers, drawers, and hanging lockers galore in this stateroom. Access to the en-suite head with separate stall shower, vanity with wash basin and marine toilet is on the portside. The athwartships bulkhead in the extreme aft end of the owners’ stateroom is also fully watertight.
