"Great Shoal" belongs to the recent generation of designs from the in house design team at X-Yachts of Denmark. This performance cruiser was purchased new by the current owner with one objective: to have a boat that is high performance for local and distance regattas but with a high interior quality and appointment and the ability to cruise 2-8 family members or friends. Of course the sailing reputation of the X-Yachts is legendary, as well as the Danish craftsmanship. These two qualities have become synonymous with X-Yachts.

"Great Shoal" won 2nd in class in the 2009 Vineyard Race, winner 2009 Buzzards Bay trophy, 6th place Block Island Race, Bermuda Race 2005 4th place IRC division, 5th place ORR division, 4th place family division. However, she was designed with the "shorthanded" sailor in mind.
