Summer is here with a ready-to-go Katama 30! With the recent price reduction, her multi-boat owner says "Find her a nice home".
NOBSKA CHIEF is a wonderful example of the C.W. Hood Katama 30. She has been maintained to Bristol standards by the C.W. Hood Yacht Yard in Marblehead since new.
This one owner Katama sees limited use each season and is covered storage 9 months of the year. Her hour meter measures 208 hours! The Katama's seakeeping and handling qualities are described by Yachting Magazine's Dennis Caprio, "in the Atlantic off Miami, we encountered seas of 3 to 4 feet, but the Katama nearly ignored them. In fact, the faster I drove her (33 knots top), the more comfortable her ride became. She pounded the slightest bit only when I slowed and let her fall off a wave. She dug into the water and clung to her line in turns as though she were race car."

The C.W. Hood Katama is known a a strikingly beautiful and able small yacht.
From her extraordinary teak joinery on deck to her world class, expertly crafted and finished interior deck joinery, she is a "stand out from the crowd" vessel.
One of our owner's describes their experience with the Katama..."On board the Katama 30 we met Chris Hood, offering a familiar yachting name and a low key demeanor which spoke of a pride in design and construction that appealed to us."
The owner of "Nobska Chief" has spared no expense in maintaining his Katama. Just recently (March 2013) she has received fresh varnish. She is clean, waxed and has new bottom paint, making her ready for the 2013 summer season.
