If you are looking for an affordable alternative to a Nordic Tug, a Ranger Tug or a Camano Troll then you really should consider this Sable Offshore 31. This design fulfills the cruising needs of many yachtsmen. She is a boat that is large enough for safety, comfort and privacy and has long-range capability. Yet, she is compact enough for easy handling and has a hull design well-suited to economical operation.
Her super-strong all-steel hull instills an added sense of security whether your cruising grounds lie in shoal waters, seasonal ice floes or in areas of coral reefs. Her rudder, propeller and shaft are all protected by a husky full-length solid steel skeg. Flared topsides and spray rail deflect waves while the deep convex forefoot cushions the ride when the going gets rough. An all-surrounding protective raised bulwark keeps the boat dry and provides a high measure of safety for anyone on deck.
Long-range voyaging is the particular forte of Mauretania, and her larger fuel and water capacities allow a decent cruising range at a comfortable speed. Her cabins can sleep four, making her well-suited to family cruising or an ideal vessel for a retired couple. Her pilothouse is the match of much larger boats. Visibility is 360 degrees through numerous windows. The sliding doors from her pilothouse give quick and easy access while docking or picking up moorings. For leisurely running, there is a seat for two. Adjacent to the control console there is space for working on charts and plotting the course.
Her forward stateroom provides luxurious accommodations for two and is isolated away from the other living areas for privacy. There is a large Pullman-style berth with lockers and drawers below, plus there is a huge hanging locker. A complete head with lavatory, shower and storage space is directly adjacent.
Her main cabin is the social center of the boat and includes a complete galley with refrigerator, sink. Worktop, range with oven, microwave and generous storage. Her aft-deck is roomy with a custom wood cockpit table and seating for six.
If you are budgeting for your next vessel and do not want a compromise in quality, then Mauretania really should be a strong consideration for you.
