Originally commissioned by Hatteras in November of 2005, Illumination is essentially a 2006 yacht based on usage.

Four private staterooms in the owners party, with two separate crew staterooms. The interior offers an elegant classic Cherry décor with beautiful blue pearl granite, custom designed wood valances with air conditioning dispersed through the valances are through-out the yacht.
The Main Salon is entered from the aft deck by double slide stainless framed glass doors, opening to a beautiful curved sunken bar and comfortable seating to the starboard side. Full wet bar with refrigerator an icemaker. Opposite is the elegant seating area with a beautiful dark blue leather sofa, two complementary arm chairs, coffee table, end tables and lamps.
Continuing forward one comes to the formal dining area for six, cherry glass fronted lighted cabinet and great view from the starboard salon windows.
The Galley is just opposite with tremendous storage and counter spaces, featuring a teak trimmed Sub-Zero refrigerator, whirlpool appliances stove and oven, dishwasher, and blue pearl marble counter tops.
Further forward, up two steps is the Pilot house with a day head. A curved stair case leads to the flybridge, while two settees with small tables allow plenty of seating room for guests. The helm station is a true full helm with all the latest marine electronic, with two adjustable Tracy helm chairs. Pantograph doors with locks are on both port and starboard for easy access to the fore deck.
The aft deck has a delightful teak table with matching teak chairs that offers dining suitable for eight. A door on the port side provides access to the crew staterooms and the engine room.
Swim platform access is on both port and starboard with graceful curving stairs. Additional access to the crew area and engine room is thru a water tight door off the swim platform.
MASTER SUITE, is accessed from the lower foyer and full beam with double teak doors. The suite has the desire his and her bath arrangement, which is accessed from either side of the Island King bed. Cedar lined storage and drawers beneath are accessed via a pneumatic lift. Three large oval port lights on both sides of the stateroom offer a superb view from the master bed.
The luxurious VIP Stateroom is located forward and to port with an island queen bed, custom HMC mattress, cedar lined drawers, pneumatic lift storage under the berth, and large ensuite head with stall shower.
Continuing forward is the spacious bow VIP suite with island queen bed, custom mattress, under berth storage, cedar lined drawers and hanging locker. Large ensuite head with stall shower.
The fourth stateroom is located across from the VIP, with upper and lower berths set at ninety degrees to each other and very spacious. Private ensuite head with stall shower.
Captains and crew cabins are aft of the engine room, accessed either from the aft deck or via swim platform by watertight Pacific Coast door. The Captains cabin has an island queen bed. A Large head with stall shower is located opposite this cabin. A second washer and dryer are located in the crew quarters.
The open flybridge has a full array of electronics and three new Llbroc helm chairs. This area has a custom Pipewelders hardtop. A three sided enclosure is used to ensure comfortable cruising. Aft of the helm you'll find a bar, which houses a separate icemaker and refrigerator with three bar stools on polished stainless bases.
Customized twin lounges provide seating and dining with custom cocktail tables with polished stainless steel bases.

The owner tends to prefer to cruise the yacht at about 10 knots, resulting in 2,852 engine hours. As Caterpillar advises it is not the engine hours that should be considered for the engine life it is purely the amount of fuel thru the engines.
