Vessel Overview & Walkthrough
USCG Inspected for 22 passengers with current COI!!
"Katherine" is a fine example of the classic, trusted Evans/Wicomico 42, originally built by Evans Boats in Crisfield, MD back in 2004 and finished by Wicomico. She had a light re-fit in 2011 by "Bootie" Collins with Collins Marine Railway. Her hull had a fresh Awlgrip paint job in 2015 as well as well and is in excellent condition.
She is USCG Inspected for 22 passengers with a current COI (Certificate of Inspection). She will cruise economically between 16-18 knots, and has a top speed of 20 knots with her 300hp. CAT engine.
Overbuilt for use on the Chesapeake with solid construction detail and ample space, her exterior she offers a sizable cockpit for fishing comfortably, several built-in coolers, one on either side if the main cabin door, large engine hatch on centerline with remote engine ventilation under the gunnels, and an aft steering station. She has a total of 36 rod holders in and around the aft deck, so there is plenty of choice of where best to catch your trophy fish. The forward end of her working deck has a hard roof overhead for protection from the elements. There is also an anchor windlass forward.
Moving forward into the cabin through the solid sliding door brings you into the main cabin which offers 6'5" headroom and a tremendous amount of storage space for all of your equipment and gear, tackle drawers, large dry storage in a number of compartments as well as smaller areas to help keep all of your equipment well organized. Rod storage racks are found overhead. As you move forward in the cabin, there is a spacious dinette to port with varnished table. Forward and to starboard brings you to the main helm station with a seat big enough for two. All of your gauges and instruments as well as all of the circuit breakers for the vessel systems may be found close at hand. 360 degree views are found at the helm so you will always be able to tell what is happening in the world around you, and have no excuses for missing all of the fishing action!
Stepping down a couple of steps brings you into the lower portion of the cabin. To port is a large head with sink and overhead hatch for ventilation. To starboard and forward is a berth/seating area with copious amounts of storage below. Additional rod and tackle storage is found throughout.
If you have been waiting for the right vessel to use for carrying paying passengers, be sure to consider "Katherine" as she sounds exceptionally well and is not to be missed! Please let us know if you have any specific questions. We look forward to hearing from you.
