SURPRISE is a 38’ Downeast-style cruiser custom built for the current owner to a Carroll Lowell design with modifications by the builder, Jeff Grey, of Snug Harbor Yachts. Her hull was cold-molded and consists of two layers of western red cedar over douglas fir tongue and groove planking.
She is beautifully finished. Her interior is spacious and open, with mahogany joinery. Decks are wide and uncluttered. Her 13’ beam provides for a roomy cockpit.
Power is provided by a Cummins 450 hp turbocharged diesel with only 277 hours. A bow thruster aids in docking. A 6.8 KW Onan generator with only 116 hours provides electricity for on-board systems.
SURPRISE’s appearance reflects pride of ownership and careful maintenance. She has had limited use and shows little sign of wear or use. SURPRISE represents an opportunity to own a very desirable lightly used custom yacht at a fraction of her original cost. She was launched this week.
