The Moody 47 owes its impressive passage times to its latest generation hull which, with its extended waterline, cuts efficiently through the water. She can be sailed easily by two people. All the controls are placed within the long cockpit where spray protection id provided by the stainless steel framed windscreen, or the option of a GRP doghouse with stainless steel edged windows and complete cockpit tent. In-mast furling is standard, and you can specify a cutter rig and self tacking stay sail for greater flexibility. Teak is used for the decks and the cap rail on the raised bulwarks.

Wheel steering pedestal with stainless steel binnacle guard and binnacle mounted compass. Cockpit seats and sole finished in teak. Engine instrument panel plus binnacle mounted engine control lever. Stainless steel grab handles each side of companionway. Stainless steel framed windscreen with folding sprayhood top, an optional doghouse will be offered over the for`d section of the cockpit with GRP top and stainless steel framed windscreens.

Engine driven 80amp alternator charging 3 x heavy duty 12 volt batteries, wired through isolator switches and distribution panel incorporating circuit breaker switches. 240/220 volt (or 110 volt as specified) shore support system with ring main. 40amp battery charger plus immersion coil to calorifier, indicator lights, battery state indicator, fuel and water gauges. Separate isolator switches for engine and domestic battery supply with engine starting battery isolated from domestic circuits. Navigation lights, deck flood light and steaming lights. Lighting in all accommodation areas with overhead downlights, independently switched reading and recessed pelmet lighting. Cathodic protection with hull mounted anode.
Large U-shaped galley one step down from saloon. Twin sinks in Avonite worktop, sinks fitted with electric pump out. Large front opening stainless steel refrigerator plus top opening freezer. Gimballed 4 burner cooker complete with crash bar, microwave oven wired to shore support system, Extractor fan built in above cooker. Generous work top space with deeply fiddled edges. Stowage lockers for food, crockery, pots and pans.
Yanmar 4JH3 (78hp, 57.4kw) 4 cylinder diesel engine driving through reduction gearbox, bronze P bracket and 3 bladed propeller. Engine instrument panel mounted in cockpit. Fuel supply from tank fitted with manual remote fuel shut off cock. Sound insulated engine compartment. Automatic fire extinguisher thermostatically controlled blown ventilation to engine space. Space available for generator installation.
Hand laid glassfibre construction with isophthalic gelcoat backed by initial lay up of powder bound mat and isophthalic resin. Hull topsides above waterline balsa cored sandwich construction for light weight and increased stiffness. Hull stiffened by bonded in frames and stringers in conjunction with semi structural internal mouldings. Hull to have a choice of 3 colours, white, dark blue or burgundy. Transom includes hinging transom door/swimming platform with electro hydraulic powered up and down functions.
Deck areas with integrally moulded in non slip finish in addition to swept laid teak deck to ring deck and forward coachroof. Deck areas stiffened with balsa core with plywood backing pads in way of deck fittings. Deck edge incorporates raised bulwark with teak cap rail. Inset cavita line in topsides. Painted boot top, waterline and antifouling.
Self tailing genoa sheet winches (Lewmar 54CST). 2 speed self tailing mainsheet and mainsail control line winches (2 x Lewmar 30CST). Single speed snubbing winch for furling forestay. Mast mounted halliard winch (Lewmar 40CST). Mainsheet with adjustable track aft of cockpit plus traveller lines. Genoa sheet tracks with adjustable cars and traveller lines led aft to jamming turning blocks. Genoa sheet turning blocks. Mainsail control lines led aft through deck organisers and individual rope clutches.
