Accommodations
The walk through from the companionway steps has the nav station to port with a settee. To starboard is the dinette that also converts to a sleeping double berth. The L-shaped galley is to starboard aft. Access to the aft cabin and head are to port aft. And the master cabin and ensuite head/shower are forward. The interior is the Beneteau cherry wood and blue upholstery.
There is a lot of light but the port lights and windows can be covered to keep the sun out when needed. Cruiseaire reverse cycle air conditioners are located in the aft cabin and the salon to provide comfort year round.
The heads are electric Jabsco. Shower in the forward head is separate while the aft shower is a combo design.
There are lockers, cubbies, shelves and closets throughout the cabins and galley.
Galley
The galley is a large L-Shape area to starboard of the companionway with serving access to the dinette or to the cockpit. The fridge has a front opening door while the freezer compartment has a counter opening. Both are oversized by design and powered by a 12V Adler Barber compressor.
The galley also features a Force 10 3-burner propane stove and oven, an Origo microwave, and double stainless sink.
Engine
The Volvo D2-55 diesel engine fits easily below the companionway and is accessesd by the lifting stairs, large access panels on either side and from under the aft berth for transmission and stuffing box. The engine hours shown are at 320 but the tach/meter were replaced in past at about 450 hours. So estimate of current hours are less than 800 which averages to under 60 hours per year!
Electronics/Navigation
The electronics are based on the Raymarine ST series with the ST-60 tridata, ST-60 wind indicator, and ST-6001+ Autopilot control all located on the helm pedestal. A Garmin Echomap 50S chartplotter and GPS is also on the pedestal. All are within easy reach while at the helm.
The VHF is a Standard Horizon Intrepid on the nav station with a remote RAM control at the helm as well.
For entertainment, the JVS stereo/CD is located at the nav station with salon and cockpit speakers.
Electrical
The electrical system is three fold with shore power, generator power, and 12V battery power.
The shore power is provided by two 30 A shore power cords to the AC panel.
While away form the dock, the generator provides the 110V power and can operate both a/c units. The Fisher Panda Mini-4 4 KW diesel generator is quiet and reliable with about 500 hours of use on the meter,
There are two AGM 4D house batteries and two separate AGM start batteries with a Sentry 40 Amp charger. A Xantrex Link 20 monitors the battery status.
Sails and Rigging
The Beneteau 423 utilizes a US Spar rig with in-mast furling and a Profurl genoa furler. The owner has added line stoppers to the mast for the halyards. This allows for the halyards to be stored on the mast and out of the cockpit where they tend to be in the way.
The sheets and lines are handled by 2 Lewmar 40 ST winches on the coach roof for the mainsail control and 2 Lewmar 48 ST winches in the cockpit for the genoa sheets. A Lewmar traveler across the coach roof allows for main sail control with both lines run under the dodger to the cockpit.
Deck/Cockpit
The ground tackle is comprised of two anchors, a 35# Delta and a Fortress G-37 Guardian, both on chain/rope rodes. The anchors are managed using a Lewmar Pro 1000 windlass with hand remote control.
In the cockpit, there is a huge storage locker on the starboard side that contains the generator with more storage room for fenders, docklines, and other toys. On the swim platform is the swim ladder plus hot/cold deck shower to rinse off with after enjoying the waters. Also an outboard engine lift crane and mount are located on the stern rail.
Zarcor stern seats mounted in the aft corners of the cockpit provide the best seat in the house!
Finally a full bimini and dodger over the cockpit keep the sun and elements off of the passanges and crew.
Exclusions
The outboard motor seen in the pictures and mounted on the stern rail is excluded. Other personal items are also excluded.
