Price reduction on this rare find, s/v 'Prelude' is a fresh water, low engine hour, spotless Sun Odyssey 43 DS. This boat is a two owner boat and has been stored indoors for the last three years.
Over the past 50 years, Jeanneau has preserved its passion for the sea and pushed the boundaries of design. The first Jeanneau sailboats were launched in 1964. This Jeanneau 43 Deck Salon is an excellent example of the marriage of cruising comfort with performance. If you are in the market for excellence in a cruising yacht, this is the boat.
The first thing that needs to be said about the Sun Odyssey 43 DS is that it can sail. Any initial thoughts you might have about the inclusion of the raised deck might have been at the expense of sailing performance are blown away when you take this boat out on the water.
This yacht sports a traditional nautical look with teak timberwork, teak and holly floorboards and rich blue soft furnishings. The result is a handsome interior which is light and airy thanks to the deck saloon.
This is a well equipped, exceptionally well maintained Jeanneau 43DS. Call today, this one won't last long.

Step down the companionway and enjoy the teak and holly sole and rich use of teak in the construction of the interior. The 43DS’ most prominent feature is the wrap-around panoramic view from within the salon. With light coming in from both the side windows and the roof, the salon is very light and airy and provides great ventilation. Jeanneau has done a fine job of blending the large windows and raised roof into the deck design.
Headroom in the 43 DS is 6” 5” through most of the interior. In the saloon area are a U-shaped settee and dining table to starboard and twin seats divided by a smaller table to port. This doubles as the navigation station, to allow the incorporation of a large bathroom with separate shower stall on the port side of the companionway. There is a second, smaller ensuite bathroom in the forward cabin area.
The large L-shaped galley is on the starboard side of the companionway, and is very well-equipped with a twin stainless steel sinks supplied with pressurized hot and cold water, a huge 230lt refrigerator, two burner stove/oven and a clever storage area for pots & pans.
There are separate refrigerater and ice-box compartments. The fridge has a topload hatch and a stainless steel front load door. The icebox compartment has a top load access and can be made into a freezer with the addition of freezer module. A gimbled, stainless Eno 2-burner stove & oven is propane. A Kenmore microwave is mounted above the stove. Abundant storage is found under counter, above counter and under the cabin sole in provided bins. A great galley!
Prelude is the two cabin, two head version featuring the spacious aft owner's cabin. Forward is a guest cabin which is a center-line double This forward V-berth measures 6’ 5” long by 4’ 8” wide with plenty of storage and hanging space and a desk/vanity unit in the starboard aft corner which could be used as an office during extended cruising. This cabin also has access to a private head and large opening hatch.
The salon has the convertable table option which allows the salon to convert to a double berth. The owner also has the original deluxe teak inlaid table which came with the boat. Storage under cabin sole.
Custom bedding included for both forward guest berth and owner's cabin.
