The 34 foot J/105 is a fun and forgiving performance boat that is fantastic to sail. Raced around the world according to strict class one-design rules as well as competing inshore and offshore under IRC and other handicap classes, she is the absolute first choice for shorthanded racing sailors. Equally, if you are someone who just wants a boat that really gets up and goes, you need look no further. The J/105 started the bowsprit revolution at J Boats and we have not looked back!
The J/105 offers low maintenance with a simple layout, has great performance, a large cockpit, predictable handling characteristics and makes no pretences of being a distance cruiser or live-aboard. There is less to maintain as all the extra cabinetry and weight of things you won't use aren't there. So instead of varnishing toe-rails and troubleshooting systems you'll be enjoying a sail with friends. Oft imitated but never bettered, J/105 is simply more fun to own and of course this means that you will use your boat more!
In the UK the J/105s have their own one-design class at a number of events including the Warsash Spring Series, the Hamble Winter Series and at the J-Cup. Racing under IRC fully crewed, shorthanded and even single handed you can expect to see the J/105s finish on the podium for the JOG Series, the RORC offshore series and at Petit Bateau events.
