Large Aft Cabin with center-line island double berth and seats each side, en-suite heads compartment to port with shower and marine toilet. Door from heads compartment to large storage locker with overhead access from cockpit and hatch to engine compartment providing all round access for easy maintenance.
The fixed ballast is a wide section iron casting which acts as a grounding plate and as transverse stiffening for the keel unit. It is fitted into a recess in the hull in the area of the keel box by means of stainless steel bolts.
The aerofoil Swing Keel is cast iron and incorporates a stainless steel pivot at the leading edge.
The Swing Keel is raised and lowered by a hydraulic ram powered by an electrically driven pump with a hand operated back-up. All the hydraulics are easily accessible for any routine maintenance.

The Southerly 135 can be easily sailed by two people. Halyard and reefing lines are fed back through the coach roof and the self tailing winches are positioned within the cockpit for easy handling. The large centre cockpit with ample stowage, is designed with both safety and comfort in mind.
