YOUR CHOICE: COMMUTER, FISHING PLATFORM, TUNA CHASER????
Wren is unique; she was built to meet the requirements of a fast reliable all weather island commuter, finished by Jeff Moyer, Vinalhaven, Maine. Powered by a low hour Caterpillar, Model C3406-E, 800 hp. diesel that provides a fast and dry passage. Evolution drive system replaced with a new gear in 2006; includes a trolling gear. Engine box insulated with 'Sound down'. A quiet running boat with wet exhaust.
Wren has a large open cockpit with a teak deck, teak aft seat with cushions and a complete set of navigational aides. These include Furuno radar, Furuno chart plotter, Simrad auto pilot, Standard Horizon VHF and a clear vision windshield wiper system. Fiberglass tank (approximately 150 gallons) located under aft wash rail.
The pilot house has a fixed port cabin side with open back and starboard side that is equipped with roll-up canvas curtains. Down below there is standing headroom, a double vee berth with fabric cushions, a complete built-in chart table with drawers.
Note: Wren is presently not equipped with a marine head or galley. These facilities could be installed by removing the chart table. Excellent access to the batteries and ship's wiring is provided by opening doors down below and under the steering station.
Wren's future could continue as a fast and safe commuter, or with additional gear, be converted to a commercial fishing platform.
Wren has a cruising speed of 25 kts., and top speed is 41 miles an hour!!!!!
