INDULJENCE is a one owner, beautifully maintained, J/42 with the optional full varnished cherry interior. She has been seasonally cruised in northern New England for most of her life and has never been raced. Her Espar diesel cabin heat is just one of many pluses to this J/42.

There are berths for up to six in a two stateroom layout with a full varnished cherry interior with cherry "ceilings" lining the hull in all areas in lieu of the standard vinyl hull liner. The cabin sole is varnished teak and holly. Superb natural light and ventilation with four large and eight smaller opening ports, four hatches and two dorades. All opening ports and hatches have screens and all of the ports are fitted with blinds. Espar diesel cabin heat takes the chill off on a foggy morning or provides plenty of warmth during extended season use. Natural lighting is supplemented with 12 volt lighting throughout with swivel style reading lamps at all berth and settees and several dome style overhead lights throughout.
Starting forward is the private Forward Stateroom featuring a 6'6" V-berth with filler. Below the berth is storage in drawers and drop face lockers as well as some bin type storage while above the berth there are shelves P&S. Aft and to starboard is a bureau followed by a generous hanging locker while to port is the enclosed head with private entry. The head features a manual W.C. plumbed to the holding tank with macerator pump out for offshore use, molded vanity and sink, storage in two lockers and a full length shelf. The shower is ensuite and plumbed to a separate sump with a Y-valve to main cabin bilge for when the boat is left unattended for long periods.
Continuing aft one enters the Salon featuring a custom live aboard style L-settee to port and straight settee to starboard with cushions of Hunter Green Ultrasuede on each. Below the settees there is some limited storage along with tankage and other vessel systems with additional storage behind the seat backs and in lockers and shelves above. Dining is from a varnished cherry drop leaf table that conveniently stows against the forward bulkhead when not in use.
Next aft is the forward facing Nav. Station with bench seat, flip top type chart table with drawers below. Outboard is a deep storage shelf, the vessel's electrical distribution panels and a panel housing the below decks navigational instruments.
Opposite to port is the U-shaped Galley featuring excellent storage in several lockers and drawers, generous counter space, a large well insulated "ice box" fitted with Sea Frost engine battery refrigeration with 110 Volt shore power assist for handling refrigerated and frozen food stuffs. Cooking is conveniently handled from a gimballed 3 burner Force 10 propane stove with oven. The polished stainless deep double basin sink is located on centerline as it should be for use when sailing and is fitted with H&C pressure water and manual fresh water pumps. The serving tray can be moved to a fiddle in the U of the galley to serve as a seat for the cook when sailing offshore.
Next aft is the Aft Head fitted with moulded in vanity and sink with H&C pressure water, storage in two lockers and wet locker outboard of the W.C., ensuite shower arrangement plumbed to a separate sump and a manual W.C. plumbed via a Y-valve to the aft holding tank.
Opposite to starboard is the private Aft Stateroom featuring a berth of 6'6"+ with some bin type storage underneath and a shelf above. Forward of the berth in a bureau and hanging locker.
Thoughout the interior of the J/42 there are purposefully elegant details such as the deep fiddles in the galley, locking cabin sole hatches, etc., that at once make her a delight to be onboard in port or at sea and a capable sailing vessel should one decide to head offshore.
