SCRIMP infusion molded sandwich construction using biaxial Toray carbon fiber with e-glass in the skins with Baltek Super-Light 45 end-grained balsa core in the hull and Corecell foam core in the deck. The interior on the J/145 is fairly standard for the mail salon and aft cabin with basic custom options.
Forward of the main bulkhead is where most of these boats are different with only a couple having the same layout. On Ace, we decided to move the ring frame forward 9" to allow for full length berths and have a large storage locker forward for cruising and ocean passages. Aft of this are single berths to port and starboard with drawers and lower locker storage. Bookshelves have been added outboard of the berths. These convert to sail bins when racing. Aft to port is the head with shower. To starboard is a cabinet with vanity sink.
The main cabin has varnished cherry veneered bulkheads and furniture units, with cold molded varnished trim.
