The Hunter 140 is a fabulous family daysailer. The wide-beam keeps it stable and dry while its planing hull allows it to really move. Parents will appreciate the unsinkability and ease of sailing for children, and children will love the ability to really sail for themselves. The hull is built with an Advanced Composite Process which integrates an ABS plastic, high density foam and woven roving into a sandwich construction that is both unsinkable and five times more impact resistant than fiberglass. Rigging the 140 is quick and easy with a deck stepped hinged mast. A large main and small jib provides plenty of power, without being difficult to handle. An uncluttered cockpit and wide bench seats can accommodate all the crew. Hunter Marine Hunter Marine Corporation was founded in 1973 to build truly affordable sailboats. Warren Luhrs, Hunter's chairman, has personally logged thousands of ocean miles both single-handedly and shorthanded aboard his ocean racers. From these floating laboratories hundreds of new ideas have been born. The same B & R rig that powered his boats into the record books also power the Hunter fleet. A lot has changed over the years, but Hunter Marine continues its commitment of bringing the sailing public the best performing and most accommodating sailboats at a reasonable price.
