This wonderful Hallberg-Rassy 46 was designed by German Frers, in total 134 Hallberg-Rassy 46's were built between 1995 and 2005. The HR46 is the ultimate blue water cruiser, big enough to cross the largest oceans in the world and still small enough to be easily handled by two or sailed locally. ZETA is a beautiful example of this popular cruising yacht, she is the two cabin version and the current owner has made lots of improvements to her including brand new Elvstrom sails (main and genoa), new running rigging and new upholstery in the cabin. She has recently been polished and antifouled and is ready to be sailed away!

Shorthanded sailing is easy in this modern cruiser. It is both high-pointing and fast, but also sea-kindly. It is a boat made to go around the world or cruise local waters. There is space for all the modern comfort aids. Hull and deck are GRP, built under supervision of Lloyd's Register of Shipping. The hull is insulated above the water line. The deck is of GRP sandwich construction, 35mm for strength and insulation. The lead keel is attached with stainless steel bolts. The mast is stepped on a base on the cabin top directly over a reinforced bulk head. Cockpit protected by permanent windscreens in tempered glass in light alloy frames. The middle pane opens. Spray-hood in synthetic material with aluminum frames. Handrails, companionway, hatch guides, sole and seats in cockpit are all in solid teak. The cabin is done in selected teak, hand-rubbed and treated to a silk smooth finish. The seagoing galley so arranged that one can work safely even in heavy seas, and has deep, double sinks and a well-insulated icebox.
ZETA is the two cabin version of the Hallberg-Rassy 46. All interior woodwork is finished in teak, making the cabin much lighter than the usual mahogany finish. All upholstery has recently been replaced which really allows ZETA to stand out.
The aft cabin has a large double berth, positioned centrally in the cabin with a seat to port. There is plenty of locker space throughout. The en-suite heads are to starboard with a separate shower, sea toilet and hand basin with hot and cold pressurised water.
Walking forward from the aft cabin the engine access is down to your right and the chart/navigation table is in front positioned to port facing forward, the VHF, chart-plotter, switch panel etc are all mounted at the chart table.
In the main saloon there is a large dinning table with bottle storage and an L-shaped sofa with seating for around 6 people, there is also another sofa on the starboard side. There is ample storage behind and below the sofas.
The U-shaped galley is to the starboard side of the companionway, it has a Corian work surface and is well equipped with a double stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressurised water and a foot pump as back-up, a built in 24v fridge, a new (2013) OCEAN CHEF 3 cooker with 3 burners, oven and grill. There is also plenty of stowage for pots, pans, supplies etc.
In the walk-through from the main cabin to the forward cabin the is a single berth/sofa to starboard and the forward heads are to port, again with a separate shower and space for a washing machine to be installed. The walkway works well as an extension or dressing room to the forward cabin if only two cabins are required.
The forward cabin has a spacious double 'V' berth with good amounts storage all around.
The new (2012) sails by Elvstrom have been manufactured to Hallberg-Rassy's "ocean" specifications and have had only a few hours use.
Fully batterned Elvstrom mainsail.
Stack-pack and lazy-jack system by Elvstrom Sails.
Roller furling Elvstrom genoa, with foam luff and UV strip.
