The Cornish Shrimper 19 is the most popular model with classic styling that appeals to sailors from any generation and a build quality that has led to her reputation as the best British production Gaffer of all time. There has been over 1100 Cornish Shrimpers built since 1979 with the original boats still being sailed all over the world. Takamaka comes fitted with a Yanmar 9hp inboard Diesel. This sets her apart from the other trailer sailors on the market.
The self-draining cockpit is roomy compared to other boats of her size and the companionway leads down to a classic 2 berth arrangement. A shallow 1’ 6” draught and lifting keel allow for sailing to tranquil coves & creeks taking the ground around a tide with ease. Launch and retrieval is done without difficulty from a single axle trailer with the pivoting bowsprit arrangement making mast lifting safe and easy.
'Takamaka' is Sail Number 817, she was built and commissioned in June 2000. Her current owner has spent well over £3000 on her over the last year, all standing rigging has been replaced, majority of the running rigging has been replaced, the mast and all spars were removed during the winter. The mast have been treated and re Sikkens. The sails have all been valeted, in addition the owner has had a tiller clutch fitted for single handed sailing. The engine has had a full service and overhaul by the local Yanmar dealer.
