The Trojan 440 Express was a leading-edge design when she was introduced in 1995 as well as being one of the larger express boats of her day. Built on a modified-V hull with a wide beam, the 440 is a spacious boat both inside and out. There were two very similar floorplans offered during her production years. Originally designed with two staterooms, in 1998 the sprawling Ultraleather sofa was shortened to make room for a tiny third stateroom to starboard. The decor is an appealing mix of cherry cabinetry and off-white wall coverings, and a full-size refrigerator is included in the galley. Topside, the spacious cockpit is dominated by a wraparound lounge aft (convertible into a huge sun pad) along with a wet bar, transom door and refrigerator. The sporty burlwood helm is large enough for flush-mounting several pieces of electronics. A hydraulic drive-on swim platform for PWCs—or a regular extended swim platform for swimmers—were optional. Additional features include a hidden anchor windlass, radar arch, an air-conditioning outlet at the helm, and a gas-assisted engine access hatch in the cockpit sole. | ||
