Nautor Swan 48-129 Cruiser / Racer

SUMATRA is a Swan 48 performance cruiser in premium condition. The result of a "no expense spared" philosophy of her past and present owners SUMATRA can be described as not only a beautiful boat but one which is state of the art with respect to sail inventory, navigation, communication and entertainment electronics. She was sailed only in the north east of the USA by her previous owners, and laid up each winter, under cover.

Her present owners bought her in 2008 in Newport, Rhode Island and have cruised the North East of the USA down to the Caribbean - where she spent the winter 2008-2009.

In summer 2009 she stayed ashore in Antigua, then winter 2009 sailed the Caribbean before crossing the Atlantic to the Mediterranean. Winter 2010-11 was spent in Barcelona, afloat under her custom cover. SUMATRA has been sailing for the summer 2011 in the Adriatic area. She spent the winter on land at a yard in Venice (again covered).

May 2012 the yacht has been launched and commissioned again. She is ready to sail. Her owners will use her again this summer sailing the West Med. 

SUMATRA has a spacious two cabin, two head layout with full galley, the saloon is finished with  leather upholstery and the cabins have custom foam bedding for cruising comfort.

The smallest cruising Swan now being built by Nautor is the Swan 53. Therefore the Swan 48 is the perfect option for those seeking a fast cruiser and capable club racer.
