The Hunter Passage 450 was designed, engineered and built to provide its owners the ultimate in comfort and livability. When you approach “apsaras” you’ll immediately notice the graceful lines that the Hunter design team intended for the 450 passage. What isn’t readily apparent is the abundant interior living space that is waiting to be enjoyed aboard. This is very unusual in sailboats of traditional designs. If she is moored stern in, then the swim platform makes for easy boarding from the dock. Two huge transom lockers nicknamed “the double garages”, provide ample storage space for inflatable kayaks, dinghy, BBQ, extra fenders, etc.

There is plenty of space for lounging in the sun, star gazing, entertaining, or relaxing on deck. The forward anchor locker is large enough to easily house the 45# CQR main anchor with 145 ft of chain and rode, the secondary 35# Danforth anchor with 275 ft of chain and rode, extra dock lines, and the Horizon 1500 electric windlass with remote cockpit control. A large, very accommodating cockpit has seating for 9 and a new full enclosure by Iverson Designs allows for great visibility while providing protection from inclement weather. A folding dining table, arch lighting, stereo speakers, and complete set of cushions finishes off the area with trademark comfort. The helm employs Whitlock direct mechanical steering, has full instrumentation, and a pedestal mounted single lever throttle/shifter. All halyards and lines lead aft from the furling Genoa and main sail to the cockpit through Harken turning blocks for sailing ease, comfort, and safety in any weather.
