As one would expect from world-class Grand Banks, this exquisite 42 Europa has a full varnished teak interior with varnished solid teak parquet sole. Natural light and ventilation is superb, with numerous large sliding windows in the salon, a centerline opening windshield and double sliding door aft and single opening door adjacent to the helm. Plenty of sliding windows and hatches below as well. No less abundant is the artificial lighting with swivel-style polished stainless reading lamps at all berths and settees, also with numerous overhead lamps. When the temperatures are a bit less comfortable, reverse cycle (heats & cools) air conditioning extends the season in cooler climates or makes the interior more than comfortable on a hot humid day.
From the spacious teak decked cockpit, enter the main saloon through a double glass sliding door. A luxurious L-shaped settee to port with folding-leaf teak table offers seating for three or four. Pull up the barrel chairs from stbd to add two more guests for dining, or fold up the table leaves and sprawl on the settee alone to relax with 360-degree water views. Blue Ultrasuede on settee and chairs is in new condition. The barrel chairs normally reside starboard side on either side of the entertainment console, which was fitted with a pop-up TV as part of her 2009 upgrading.
An innovatively-designed teak liquor locker to stbd hides bottles, high balls, and a Corian cutting board. Wine and wine glass cabinet with glass doors to port.
Just ahead and to stbd is the lower helm station w/full electronics & engine displays. Access the side deck via the door to stbd to throw a line or call your crew. Below the plush Ultrasuede seat is a storage cabinet.
A spacious, bright galley to port offers as good a water view as the saloon! See below for more details.
Down three steps, enter the guest cabin to port. Full-length cedar-lined hanging locker, cabinets and drawers provide ample storage. Twin single upper berths run athwartships.
Leave the guest cabin and enter the enclosed heads to stbd. Cabinets below & behind the sinks; behind the Sealand VacuFlush freshwater heads there is storage for linens & toiletries. Opening ports in the head and the separate shower provide fresh air and light. The shower separates the two heads and may be accessed from either head.
Fwd of the heads and guest cabin is the regal master stateroom. A cedar-lined hanging locker is to port, and a bureau with five drawers is to stbd. Wing cabinets port and stbd offer additional storage, w/counter space to port and a vanity w/stainless sink to stbd. After a comfortable night's sleep in the queen-size master berth, leave the curtains open to wake up gently with the sun. The overhead hatch introduces plenty of light and fresh air . The (4) large opening ports are also equipped with screens. A full-length mirror helps you dress for the day's cruise, and additional storage drawers below the berth are large enough to store charts and clothes.
Large U-shaped galley with Corian countertops and Corian under mount sink. There is an abundance of storage in several lockers and drawers and the tops of the port side bridge deck fold back to reveal storage for all crockery and food stuffs. A conveniently located custom "pantry" cupboard is at the top of the companionway leading below. Clarion AM/FM Stereo with six-disc CD changer, subwoofer.

The Grand Banks 42 Europas are prized for their wide walk around side decks and spacious aft deck as well as the molded in fiberglass staircase to the flying bridge. The boats were designed to be friendly to cruise on so the anchor pulpit is well thought out and capable of stowing 2 anchors should one so choose. Windlass controls are located at the bow and at each helm station.
Large lazarettes under the aft deck provide ample storage for fenders, docklines, safety gear etc. as well as a multitude of other items. Forward of the lazarette is what is often referred to as the "Gararge" with yet more storage space and housing some of the auxillary equipment, water heater, some batteries etc.
The flying bridge layout has the standard thwartship running bench seats which will seat up to eight as well as the optional L-settee. There is storage under all the settees and the L-settee and assoc. teak table have blue sunbrella covers.
