'Gudrun II' is about as well maintained and cared for as any Vessel we have been on, she is immaculate.
Long keel, round bilged, she is a 'poop decked' slightly extended version of the popular 'Roberts 53'.
Commisioned by the present owners, she was professionally built out of Corten steel in Malta by Terry Erskine, an ex Royal Navy Artificer, who went on to supervise her fit-out and launch in the UK in 1999.
She is an immensely strong, safe and purposeful yacht, unencumbered by inventories of excessive and often redundant systems and equipment. For instance, the bow thruster installed when launched, has been removed because it was found to be unnecessay, (the tunnel is still there). Simarlily, the wind generator once installed was found not to be needed and removed. That said, the hardware and systems that are fitted are proven and of a high quality.
She has a climb in sail / bosuns/ chain locker which keeps the interior pleasantly fresh and uncluttered by working gear.
All standing rigging is secured out at the toe-rail, leaving uncluttered open area's along the decks and around the mast. All standing rigging and lifelines are oversized. The large 'poop' deck is an attractive feature, a great place for dining and entertaining.
The interior layout is remeniscent of the much admired 'Oyster' yachts. It is sumptuous and well detailed with quality fixtures and fittings.
