This Bayliner 4087 truly offers more than any other cockpit motor yacht in its class. Its tri-level design and triple stateroom layout give it the functionality and spaciousness of a much larger yacht, and all three levels can be accessed without the use of ladders making it easy and comfortable to move around on, even while underway. Combined with economical and reliable Cummins diamond series turbocharged diesel engines, This is the perfect vessel for dockside entertaining as well as a serious cruising platform that offers all of the amenities of a well appointed home. At 8 knots, fuel burn is comparable to a trawler at 3.5 gph, or for quicker passages, this vessel is capable of 27 knots! Additionally, this is one of the cleanest and well maintained vessels we have seen. Even with its low hours of use, no expense has been spared in the upkeep and maintenance schedule, and the vessel has been consistently upgraded and improved.

This vessel was outfitted with twin Cummins Diamond Series turbo diesel engines, 330hp each. These are the workhorses of the marine diesel world, and with just 620 hours they are barely broken in. Many of the commercial fishing boats use these same engines and run them hard for over 10,000 hours between rebuilds. All maintenance is up to date including recent cooling system service.
Bayliner certainly did a commendable job with the layout of the 4087. The interior spaces feel open and airy, and I find it exceptionally easy getting around from one space or level of the yacht to another.
The aft deck includes wet bar and seating room with overhead lighting, and offers easy access to the rear cockpit with transom door and swim platform which is rigged to carry the tender while underway. This rear cockpit also makes an excellent fishing platform or trolling station. There is a stainless hoist on the aft deck and the outboard engine for the tender can easily be craned and stored on the aft deck rail.
The aft deck also provides access to the flybridge via a staircase on the starboard side. The flybridge id outfitted with a full compliment of electronics as well as fully adjustable captains chairs, L-shaped lounge seating to port, courtesy lighting, beverage holders, stainless steel helm, compass, full instrumentation, trim tabs control, radar arch, stainless railings, venturi windshield, weatherproof speakers, and a full Eisenglass enclosure with bimini top. All electronics and upholstery has mooring covers as well.
Back down the staircase as we enter through the companionway on our right, the galley is immediately to port and boasts hard wood flooring, 6.3' Norcold refrigerator/freezer, propane range and oven, double bowl stainless sink, well appointed cabinetry and drawers, 110V GFI outlets, and microwave oven above stove.
Opposite the galley is a sofa which sits directly aft of the lower helm station with full instrumentation. To port of the lower helm is a dinette with ample room which also converts to a double berth. The main salon is equipped with overhead lighting that has just been converted to LED fixtures which are very bright and efficient. The salon and cabins are outfitted with reverse cycle heating and air conditioning with thermostatic control.
Moving forward and downstairs is a mid cabin with double berth to port, head with vanity and shower to starboard, and access to spacious forward stateroom with pullman berth, cabinets and drawers. The mid cabin can be accessed directly from the forward stateroom via a locking door with mirror.
Making our way aft through the main salon, we go down another set of steps into the aft stateroom which is expansive. It offers an island berth (walk around) with drawers under, nightstand, shelving, illuminated cedar lined hanging locker. entertainment center, opening ports, vanity counter with sink, medicine cabinet, head, and separate shower stall.
The useable space of the Bayliner 4087 is truly outstanding. Combined with well thought out systems and amenities, the result is an exceptionally comfortable and useable yacht outfitted to a high standard.
