ALERION 28 EXPRESS - Experience the romance of yesterday w the performance of today.
The Alerion 28 Express is the perfect daysailor designed by Carl Schumacher and built by TPI, Rhode Island. It is comfortable enough for an overnighter equipped with a spacious v-berth forward. There is a porcelain manual head with holding tank. Main cabin has a settee to port with storage below and outboard. Starboard is a stainless steel sink w manual fresh water, a settee and navigation/chart station aft. Cooler is secured on mounts at the base of companionway. Main hatch w solar vent fan.
Restoration work that was done at Alerion restoration dept: all non-skid on decks painted w Awlgrip, all gelcoat redone, all teak stripped and varnished
with six coats of Awlgrip varnish, new porcelain manual head w holding tank, cabin sole replaced, all rigging replaced including halyards, sheets, etc.,
two new self-tailing winches installed on cabin top for halyards and Cunningham/single point reef system, new Raymarine wind meter installed and
new North Sails “Stack-Pack” for main.
June 2016 – Bottom soda blasted and coated with two coats barrier and two coats Petit “Vivid” anti-fouling.
Must see!!! Boat has been spring/summer commissioned - in water and ready to sail.

All of the rigging is new and is from Hall Spars including the Hoyt self-tacking jib boom and a Hall rigid Quickvang, an adjustable backstay and Harken traveler. All set up for single handed sailing. (Stack pack for mainsail and single point reefing) Keel stepped mast.
Hardware on board consists of two Lewmar #30 primary winches and dual Lewmar #7 bain top winches. All lines are led aft to the cockpit.
Boat has been stored under custom winter canvas and bottom has just been redone (barrier coated).
She has a beautiful navy blue hull w gorgeous lines w powerful yet easy to manage sail plan.
