Duet II was originally built for Oyster Marine’s former chairman and founder, and was built to satisfy the thirst for good performance yet with all the home comforts required for long distance liveaboard sailing. She was very much the benchmark Oyster that resulted in the 56 range being the best selling Oyster model of all time (so far).

Additional Specs, Equipment and Information:
Engine/Fuel Type: Diesel
Fully battened mainsail
Duet II is fully equipped for long distance cruising and comes with all the bells and whistles. She has a non standard taller carbon fibre mast and rod rigging as specified by Richard Matthews who was the founder and previous owner of Oyster Yachts. We replaced all the navigation equipment including chart plotter, radar and added an Iridium satellite telephone, the latest Pilot version, with broadband internet access. We also added an AIS transceiver and receiver. The interior has been totally refurbished and kept in pristine condition with the added benefit of crew covers. The exterior canvas work has also been replaced by us and she has been maintained to an exceptional condition. The specs of Duet II cannot be compared with the specs of most yachts for sail in the Med since these yachts are usually used for long weekend or holiday cruising and therefore would need a lot of extra equipment. Such as a water maker which was renewed in 2010, with a Sea Recovery modular maintenance free system which produces 55 US gallons an hour. The running rigging has been adapted to allow for single handing. A permanently rigged boom preventer on both sides is adjustable from the cockpit. A forth reef is added to the mainsail and replaces a tri-sail. The mainsail halyard is re-led to the electric winch in the cockpit.
