Accommodation & Layout:
Moby Dick is a lovely example of the classic Nordhavn 46 layout, with two double staterooms, both with ensuite heads.
The saloon is entered from the large sliding door in the aft cockpit, the protected cockpit extends the living area to the outdoors, where there's room for two chairs and a small table.
The spaciousness saloon is full of light from the large opening cabin windows, which are dressed with roll curtains for night time privacy.
The u-shaped settee has room to seat four at the dining table to port, to the starboard side of the saloon, standard entertainment centre. Extras include extra lights, all upgraded to chrome, extra 220 volt power sockets, a wall mounted clock, hygrometer, and barometer in chrome.
The galley is to port forward of the dining area, and is well equipt with a GE oven, refrigerator, freezer with ice maker, microwave with convection oven, Broan trash compactor, and a Corean cover for galley sink.
Next to the galley a stairway leads below to the two staterooms, the owner’s stateroom is amidships with a double bed and ensuite head with separate shower. The guest stateroom is forward, again with double bed and an ensuite head complete with seperate shower stall.
Up in the pilothouse, behind the helm, a raised settee with a table provides a perfect spot to keep watch, or for those overnight passages, there's a watch berth above the settee, which also serves as an extra berth in port. Included in the pilothouse inventory are manuals, spare parts, maps and safety equipment and a folding chart table. The pilothouse also houses the combined washer and dryer.
Moby Dick is fitted with 3 Cruisair air conditioning systems with reverse cycle operation, located in the pilothouse, saloon, and cabins.
Electronics, Navigation and Pilothouse
Moby Dick boasts extensive electronics and navigation equipment with a Raytheon Radar & 398 Nav Display with Raytheon 112 GPS Sensor, a Richie 5’’ Compass, and a Robertson Autopilot AP 35 with special rate compass sensor and remote control, Autohelm Speed, depth & Wind instruments, and rudder indicator.
The boat also has an additional computer navigation system, which includes a Medion Laptop Pentium 4, Computer loaded with Transas Navigator Pro System with electronic charts, and a back up Magellan DLX 10 handheld GPS with antenna.
Other communications equipment includes Inmarsat C Trimble Galaxy satellite system and GPS, Nokia 8 watt GSM telephone with antenna, 48nm FM Icom with DSC, Weatherfax Furuno with Fax antenna, 30 watt Raytheon Hailer and a Ray 420 Intercom
Other accessories include a video system in pilothouse with camera in cockpit rear view (new in 2002), CD Player with speakers, Canon mobile printer BJ 80 and a TV and VCR with antenna.
Electrical & Machinery
All the machinery has been fully maintained even though the engine hours are very low of each unit. The owner has continued to maintain and or upgrade the equipment on Mody Dick as and when neccessary. She is in full operational order.

Deck and Hull
Extras to the standard deck specification include teak decks, a stainless steel and teak swim platform with swim ladder, accessed through a extra boarding door, a hydraulic stainless steel/teak passarelle with remote and cockpit controls, stainless steel frame with canvas over aft deck (sun roof) and a taylor made bow ladder.
Moby Dick’s main tender is a Novurania Type 335 MX with a 25 HP Mercury outboard, stored on stainless steel dinghy chocks, also included is a second smaller tender, a Lodestar 4 persons inflatable, along with a dinghy launch system.
Deck gear includes a Maxwell VWC 3500 windlass with remote and cockpit control, Freeman deck hatch over anchor locker, the main anchor is a 60 lbs stainless steel CQR anchor with 120m 3/8 chain, the secondary anchor is a 40 lbs Danforth with 30m chain. The boat has fresh water spigots fore and aft, and a salt water pump. 2 FRP Deck Boxes are included, one on the fore deck and one on the boat deck, and these contain all fenders, lines and various accessories.
All portholes have stainless steel storm plates; there are 6 acrylic storm plates for the saloon windows and dark blue covers for all windows.

Moby Dick is an excellent example of a Nordhavn 46 and has been well maintained by the present owner and Captain. She offers the best of both worlds of cruising, either oceanic or inland water ways. There is no other model of boat available capable of such diversity. A viewing is highly recommended
