CANTILENA was built for her present owners. They cruised from Canada south to the Caribbean and later across to Europe. In 2001 the yacht was imported at the Azores and EU tax (VAT / IVA) was paid. During the subsequent years CANTILENA has been based mainly in Spain and used for family cruising. The owners have kept the boat meticulously. In 2006 the yacht had a complete refit of her spars and rigging. She also got a new genoa and new jib. In 2010 the yacht had a complete hull repaint and further upgrades including a new mainsail (refit details below).
CANTILENA is a superb ocean / blue water cruising yacht. She is easily handled by a couple and yet with plenty of space and storage for a full family and guests to sail happily. The owner stateroom is aft with an island bed and ensuite head / shower area. Forward of the saloon is a good twin cabin with upper and lower beds and forward is a double berth “VIP” guest cabin. You have the benefit of a sheltered helm in the pilothouse for bad weather but a good outside cockpit area to enjoy as well. The yacht is fully equipped and ready to be enjoyed by new owners.

September 2012 the owners replaced the ships computer system, which was rather antiquated. The monitor is a Phillips 19” S4LAB/00 and HDTV compatible. The printer is an HP 3070A wireless printer/Scanner/Copier. They have installed a wireless router to link the whole lot and any laptops on board.
Update February 2013: The owners have ordered the Solar panel installation which will be delivered in the spring. (We can provide further details and the Solbian brochure).
(The cells which make up the panels are the highest efficiency solar cells currently available - at 20% efficiency. They will produce 750Wp – approx. 30amps – which will eliminate much of the use of the generator, except for heavy ac loads, such as the washer/dryer and water-maker. The electrical load is controlled by 8 Genasun MPPT chargers which are the most efficient type available. They boost the voltage from each panel as it is shaded which minimises the shading effect. The output of each pair of panels will be measured by 4 Amp meters. A switch panel of 8 breakers will enable each panel circuit to be isolated. The switch panel, charger units and amp meters will be located in a new electrical panel in the upper galley shelf beside the oilskin locker.)
Other recent upgrades spring 2013:- S/S guard wires replaced; Vetus cowls replaced; SkyScreen hatch black out blinds & mosquito nets replaced; Pilothouse window sun screens replaced; Digital Yacht AIS Pro AIS receiver with dedicated antenna on lower spreader installed & connected to ships computer & to pilot house nav station for laptop; Running rigging main sheet & halyards (being replaced before we leave).
