ARION was engineered and built by C. Raymond Hunt Design and The Hinckley Company to be the largest cruising yacht that can be easily handled by a couple, without need of additional crew. Design requirements also included the very best in sound attenuation for quiet running at all rpm ranges, fast cruising speed, excellent sea keeping capabilities and a smooth ride in all conditions.

Accommodation requirements included a full width owner stateroom with private cockpit, plus two comfortable additional staterooms and separate crew quarters; plus a salon befitting a yacht of her caliber, comprehensive navigation station and office desk in the pilothouse, and galley down but not separate from the salon to accentuate the sense of spaciousness.

ARION’s owner has cruised extensively and demanded a yacht that would not be held captive by 110 volt systems, which require running the generator constantly – consequently refrigeration and other systems can be run on 24 volts in a quiet ship mode for days – or weeks, at anchor.

The remaining top priority was for a yacht that created an elegant profile on which all styling details contribute to the overall look of an able, classic, performance offshore cruising yacht.
