PRIDE was launched and sea trialed here in Brooklin in the summer of 1995 after which she was placed on a trailer and delivered to her (then) owners home on the shore of Lake Ontario. PRIDE sailed there for the rest of that summer before being hauled out for winter storage. For unknown reasons her (then) owners never launched PRIDE again.
In the fall of 2016 Brooklin Boat Yard purchased her and had her brought back to the yard for a significant refit. The refit (done over 2016-2017 winter) included some repair of water damage but mostly was done to renew the cosmetics of the boat (paint and varnish finishes) and replace items that had deteriorated or been ruined due age and exposure (new standing & running rigging, new sails & canvas)
With the refit completed PRIDE is being launched in time for the 2017 Eggemoggin Reach Regatta where she will have the opportunity to stretch her legs and strut her stuff on the race course. After the regatta PRIDE will be on a mooring here at Brooklin Boat Yard available for inspection and test sail for qualified candidates.
