The Beneteau yard has commissioned two renowned designers for the concept of this yacht. Bruce Farr is responsible for the excellent sailing qualities. His designs are not only regular regatta winners but also very user-friendly. Nobody less than Philippe Starck signed for a pleasant stay on board. From behind the large steering wheel you have well overview and control over the boat. The compass has been placed on the pedestal and the meters have been placed in the sides of the cockpit. On the mastfoot moreover large Maxview clocks are placed so that also the crew can read the instruments. Around the cockpit six Lewmar winches stand to where the sheets and halyards are being led. The deklayout is very well-considered and synoptic. The blocks and stoppers have been placed so that the many trim lines are within reach for the crew. The vast set of sails exist from Mylar quality sails of North Sails. For broad-reach courses there are two spinnakers. Once in the saloon the boat especially has a tranquil and spacious and atmosphere much because light materials have been used. There is a good balance between beauty and functionality. Chique design details such as lamps and windows catch the eye. The finishing of woodwork is fancy by the many contours. The saloon has social sitting corner with modern white upholstery and an oval table in the middle. To port side the kitchen has been placed with double sink, cooker and furnace and icebox. In the kitchen there is much cupboard space for food storage. In the bow is a spacious two persons owner cabin with wet cell, completely with large mirrors, a sink and much cupboard space. In the stern there are two more large two persons cabins. On the sides of the saloon entrance you find left a large wet cell and right the navigation corner. The engine is accessible for service by the large removable stairs . All in all this Beneteau First42s7 can be considered a very nice design. Insides very pleasant to stay on, outsides much fun to sail her. We gladly invite you to come and see her for yourself in Lelystad. | ||
