THE BOAT was launched in 1995. Contructed in
Quilmes, Buenos Aires, Argentina, by Juan Marνa
(Pichνn) Broeders under design and calculations
from Horacio Ezcurra.
Aluminium was used for the construction of the
hull. 5086 Marine Grade Aluminium for the metal
sheets and 6061 Marine Grade Aluminium for
extrusion structural components.

The boat was conceived as a fast Ocean Cruiser
capable of 200 NM + a day, in safety and comfort,
that could be singlehanded or crewed by a
couple with easy.

A very solid construction and extra strenght in
hull and rigging make it a boat for worldwide
cruising, capable, as well,of Artic or Antartic
voyages.

Galvanic corrosion protection is achieved by 12
Galvanum Anodes recessed into the hull.
Thruhulls and intake valves are mounted on
integrated aluminium bases, and electricaly
isolated from the hull. The same is true of fittings
on deck, like winches and windlasses. The
propeller shaft is also isolated from the hull and
engine by a Drivesaver isolation shaft coupling.

The hull is compromised of three watertight
compartments and a fourth in the bow that acts
as a crash safe compartment. The very bow of the
boat is a solid piece of aluminum.

All rope handling can be done from the safety of
the cockpit and protection of the solid
sprayhood, including taking three reefs on the
main sail.

It has a solid aluminuim tubes integrated
sprayhood with tempered triple layer glass
windows and full polycarbonate coverage, inside
wich full instrumentation and crew seats are.
This sprayhood is opened only in the stern, but
this side can also be closed with the provided
canvas and Crystal closing.
There are two, very unusual in a sailboat, seats
inside the sprayhood where crew can stand
watch with a complete view of boat, sea and sails
and access to Autopilots controls. These seats
swivel, recline and adjust height.

Electronics are Raymarine chartplotter computer,
sounder module, radar, GPS, Heading sensor,
Autopilot control integrated system with 3
repeater screens, two in front of the seats under
the sprayhood and one inside at the chartable
and individual instruments displays. B&G Wind
Vane, speed meter, instrument displays and
Autopilot. There is also a forward looking sonar.


As described, there are two Hydraulic Autopilots
with separate hydraulic rams, sensors and
controls, wich make up a completely redundant
system. These hydraulic nononse autopilots are
strong enough to steer the boat in any weather.

The two steering wheels are cable connected to
radial drive wheel on the rudder shaft, but each
with an individual and slot on the radial drive
wheel. This means that in case of any problem
with one of the wheels, the other one is not
compromised.

The Direct Current (DC) system is 12 V with a
House Battery Bank of four Gel batteries 225 AH
each, 900 AH total capacity. This Battery bank
gets charged from either/or the Main engine 80 A
alternator, Kubota diesel charger engine with 120
A alternator, 80 A 220 VAC Battery Charger, 2
Four Winds wind generators or the 4 Siemens
120 W Solar Panels. This system makes the boat
self-suficient for power requirements.

The Alternate Current (AC) system is 230 VAC
provided by the outside power connectors (dock
power) or the installed Prevailer 2500 Watts
inverter with autoswitch, which will automatically
switch to shore power when voltage is detected
on that circuit.

All electric circuit go through the main electric
panel with thermal switches.

On deck, the double line of lifelines are custom
made from 7 mm inox rigging wire without and
tensioners without covering, making a very solid
and safe barrier.

All sails are custom made by North Sails for the
boat. Starting with a Spectra 70 m2 main sail with
7 full battens and 3 deep reefs. Spectra Genoa 3
on a Profurl furler and a Spectra Jib on another
Profurl furler. There is an Asymmetrical with
snuffer and a big kevlar Reacher.

Tha main winches, Harken 64.2ST, are two speed
electric winches.
