FEARLESS is just as at home exploring the world as she is racing around the buoys or entertaining friends and family. Thanks to the design efforts of Neils Hellenberg and Alden Yachts, FEARLESS is one of only a few luxury sailing yachts to meet each of these specific requirements.
With the help of the builder, Eric Goetz, FEARLESS has proven herself to be quite successful in big boat racing, without compromising any of the onboard comforts one expects from an Alden designed yacht. In fact, she can be quickly modified from cruiser to racer, as her design incorporates such features as removable coffee grinders, cockpit table, and manual winches. Her carbon fiber spar and Park Avenue carbon boom allow for a powerful, fully battened mainsail configuration that is easy to handle short handed.
FEARLESS has been professionally maintained and captained since her refit in 2006 at NEB. Her refit included a new Cat engine, Northern Lights generator, fresh and black water systems, hull side paint, and electronics. In the last two years she has had her spar and boom painted and serviced, interior and exterior upholstery upgraded, bottom painted, sail inventory replaced with Quantum Sails, and more. Additional details of past and present refits available.
Featured in "The Worlds Greatest Sailboats", Ferenc Mate says the following about FEARLESS...
"As for the 72, rarely has the center cockpit solution been resolved so well - there is a smaller working cockpit aft, and a large lounge of a center cockpit, with a great U-shaped settee and a fold down dining table. Best of all, her profile, has remained as sleek, uninterrupted and beautiful as all of their yachts."
As the current owner is moving up, this is a great opportunity to enjoy one of the greatest all around sailing yachts of her size built to date!

Functional and elegant, every aspect of the interior layout was carefully considered during her design and build. Crafted of solid teak, the joinery embodies everything that is representative and expected of an Alden Yacht. Spacious and comfortable accomodations for eight persons are provided by a full width master stateroom, two guest cabins, and a double berth crew cabin. Each cabin boasts its own ensuite head, along with a day head for guests and crew.
Salon: The beautifully appointed main salon is accessed from the center 'lounging' cockpit. Upon entering the salon the U-shaped galley is to port and raised nav station to starboard. Just forward of the galley is the expanisve U-shaped settee and large dining table that can accomodate six persons. To starboard is is additional seating for entertaining or lounging around, flatscreen TV, ice maker and china cabinet. New leather upholstery summer 2012.
Galley: U-shaped and well laid out, the galley provides ample storage while offering an efficient and safe area to prepare meals whether at sea or entertaining guests. Cold storage is provided by three front loading Grunert fridge/freezers, powered by either the AC system or engine driven compressor while motoring. Cooking can be done on the 4 burner stove, oven, or built in microwave.
Guest Cabins: Two guest cabins are located just forward of the main bulkhead, one to port and one to starboard. Each cabin has two berths with private ensuite heads just forward of each of the berths.
Crew Cabin: Crew accomodations are exceptional as compared to other yachts. The cabin is located to starboard, just aft of the day head, in the passage way to the owners suite aft. Double bunks provide sleeping accomodations for two crew members.
Master Cabin: Located aft of the salon, under the aft cockpit, the owners stateroom spans the full width of the boat. It features a large ensuite head, sitting area, as well as a dedicated companionway to the aft cockpit. Ensuite head has a separate shower stall, single bowl vanity, and Vacu flush toilet.
