The 29 feels much larger than its length indicates allowing a couple or a family a very comfortable living space and with her tankage under the sole, the amount of storage under and behind the settees is fantastic. She is a second generation Packet with an improved underbody, a much bigger sail plan than the 27 she replaced and “Surprise” has the 3 cylinder Yanmar giving her more power than earlier 29s. With Island Packets superior build, she will standup to harsh use and weather conditions and perform admirably in light airs under sail or power.
